Leah Remini has never been afraid to speak out about Scientology — the religion she was a part of for 30 years — and this latest incident is no exception.
In a revealing Instagram post, the King of Queens actress slams the church for not informing her of her father's death, which happened a month ago.
In the season 2 premiere of TLC's Leah Remini: It's All Relative, the actress, who's been a part of the religion since she was nine, spoke out about why she left.
"It becomes your mother, your father, your everything. You are dependent on the church."
In it, she didn't hold back on delivering the dark side of Scientology.
This included how she became a target for questioning the church's actions and how her family members were told to "disconnect" from her after she left the church.
The show, which ran for three seasons, showcased her exposing the church's secrets, as well as interviewing other individuals who also left the religion.
The term for those leaving is called "going clear."
In an emotional Instagram post posted Monday, the actress revealed that her dad died a month ago and that she had "no idea" since they've been estranged due to the Church of Scientology.
"We had no idea that he had died a month ago. We weren’t aware that he had been sick leading up to his death."
She said that no one was even able to say goodbye.
"He was not able to redeem himself, to ask for forgiveness for his failures and hurts, to become a better man to those of us who couldn’t help but love him."
"Regardless of his neglect and abuse, I had hoped to one day have some closure."
"That alone would have been healing in its own way. We never got that, yet I can’t help but grieve."
"I am angry that I still wanted this man’s love, I’m angry that the last chapter in our relationship was dictated by Scientology."
She said that she's angry at Scientology for finding his "weak spots" and for getting him on board with their "smear campaign" against her.
"If he thought that, though, he would have been wrong. I would have forgiven him as I always did."
"And that was for him to say “I’m sorry and I loved you.”
“Leah Remini blames everyone but herself for destroying her relationships. It’s beyond hypocritical," they said.
"She was estranged from her father, who was never a member of the religion, for years and now even exploits his sad passing for tabloid attention.”
Sadly, she's too busy mourning the death of her father.
