The Gosselin Kids Are High Schoolers Now

Hello everyone, I'm here today to make you feel super old once again. I apologize in advance.

Remember the Gosselin kids? Well, six of them are starting high school and two of them are off to college.

I'm guessing you all remember TLC's "Jon And Kate Plus 8" because, let's be honest, how could you possibly forget?!

Amazon

It was a staple of early '2000s reality television.

Somehow, it has been a whole 12 years since the show premiered. Riddle me that.

TLC

Not sure where the hell the time has gone, but okay.

Anyways, like I said — the show was a hit.

However, everything went up in flames when Jon and Kate got a divorce, effectively ending the series — shattering our hearts into a million pieces.

The show's final episode of the show aired in November 2009.

It was a sad day in North America, to say the least.

A day I will never forget.

The series eventually made a brief comeback — dropping "Jon And" from the title.

TLC

This was a serious power move by Kate, if you ask me.

"Kate Plus 8" began airing in 2010, but was quickly shut down when Jon's lawyers sent letters to TLC — demanding that they cease and desist production.

Women's Health

They were eventually given permission to continue filming but were prohibited from airing more than 150 episodes.

All good things must come to an end...

Anyways, here's what the kids used to look like:

Take a good hard look at these faces because the next time you see of them, they're going to look nothing like this.

Jon shared a few photos on Instagram, wishing his kids good luck on their first year of high school.

"FRESHMAN!!! 9th Grade Wow!!! I can’t believe it!!!," he captioned the post.

"Good luck to Hannah and Collin this year!!! Today is their first day of high school!!!!," he continued.

"I hope all my kids have a wonderful year in high school this year and have great experiences!!! Love all of you!!!"

The twins, Cara and Mady, who used to look like this, are now off to college.

I know — this is surreal.

We're all getting old.

They're 18 years old. Take that in.

"I’d like to think that adulthood suits us well so far," Mady captioned this photo, celebrating her's and Cara's 18th birthday.

Here's Mady, "all packed up", ready to start the next chapter of her life.

As shocked as we all are, I can only imagine what this has been like on Jon and Kate.

In an interview with People Magazine, Kate explained how she feels about Cara and Mady going to college.

“It is the biggest mixed bag of emotions and stress I have ever faced,” she said.

"Mady and Cara really steered the ship in terms of applying to colleges."

"They knew what they wanted, and I trusted them," she said. "That same feeling is going to have to carry me through my fears now when I think about them going off on their own".

So, yeah. I think I speak for everybody when I say I feel like a senior citizen right now.
