Katharine McPhee Defends Hubby David Foster After 'Weird' Comment About Her Post-Baby Body

There's no denying Hollywood is filled with age gap relationships, it's kind of like what Hollywood is known for. I mean, also like moves and stuff but, an older man marrying a young woman is a tale as old as time. One of the most scrutinized age-gap couples is Katharine McPhee and David Foster, who have 35 years between them.

Now, Katharine is defending her hubby after he publically praised her post-baby body, which launched a series of ageist comments.

As fans may know, Katharine and David welcomed their son Rennie 10 months ago.

Katharine has been open and honest about her journey post-partum, and as anyone who follows her on Instagram knows, the 37-year-old looks absolutely incredible.

Of course, being a celebrity means have the money to dedicate the time and energy to exercising with personal trainers and having professional chefs cook all your meals.

Nevertheless, Katharine has worked hard and looks fabulous!

Do you know who else thinks Kat looks fab? Her husband David Foster.

The 72-year-old recently posted a bikini photo of his wife with the caption "what baby!" with a music emoji.

As you can see, Katharine looks bangin'!

While lots of people were praising Katharine, lots of people felt the post was out of touch.

"Yeah, let’s perpetuate the unhealthy narrative that women need to be back to or smaller than their pre-pregnancy size postpartum," wrote one user.

"Weird thing to post about your wife who had a public bout with bulimia. Ick," said another.

"Why don’t you post a photo of yourself in a bathing suit," wrote a different person.

Now, Katharine is defending her hubby's post and letting people know their criticisms are not okay.

"k the press around my husbands photo he posted of me is so dumb… so I hope this photo helps lol," she began. "I’m sorry but we are not sorry. And for all of you who can’t deal with it maybe this helps."

"I’ve struggled with weight my whole 20s and 30," she explained.

"I’ve gone up and down 10 times over. Does that make you feel better? There is nothing wrong with that -most people do. I lost this baby weight without dieting. Zero. Diets are the worst and I’ve had zero pressure from anyone."

"I’ve let me body do its thing and found a great workout. That’s it. And guess what? I’ll probably gain weight again at some point too. Who cares?" she continued.

"BUT people freaking out about what my husband captioned seriously get a life..."

"Stop being so offended by what people post who have zero impact on your life and move on."

"Maybe you should have more of an attitude of like, let’s say… 'oh that’s nice he thinks his wife is hot.'"

She concluded: "I cannot with this overly sensitive society right now. But as Taylor Swift said haters gonna hate. byyeeee."

Fans and friends were quick to praise Katharine for defending her man and her body.

"If you had of had cellulite and stretch marks in the photo and the caption was exactly the same we would all be celebrating his post. But you don’t and that’s not allowed to be celebrated," Sara Foster wrote.

"Also, you had a baby almost a year ago, not yesterday. You have been working your ass off in the gym. Let’s complain about women and husbands who post 3 week postpartum pics with their full body lipo, filters and altering apps that make us all feel like [expletive]."

"People are crazy," she added.

"You’re perfect and I love you!!!!!! Hottest natural bod and have as long as I’ve known you!" said another friend.

David's daughter Erin Foster even chimed in.

"If I can accept my step mom looking like this, you certainly should be able to. The photo wasn’t altered or filtered and she’s had no surgery," she said. "You can’t shame someone for feeling cute after a baby whether she’s sharing stretch marks or a six pack. Let her live."

I'm glad Katharine is being supported by her loved ones right now!
