I Applaud Hilaria Baldwin For Keeping Her Cool After Alec Baldwin 'Shushed' Her During Labor

As every man should already know, there are things you say and things you don't say while a woman is giving birth. Most of us instinctually know the difference, while others need a little help.

An example of the latter is renowned actor, Alec Baldwin. Recently, his wife Hilaria revealed to the world that he "shushed" her while she was giving birth to their son, Rafael.

Despite what you may have been told, being pregnant is no picnic.

For nine whole months, your body is not your own. A baby plays havoc with your hormones, ravages your body, affects your mood, diet, and ability to sleep well.

And also, that's just the BEGINNING of what you go through as a pregnant person.

Not to mention what happens when you give birth to that little thing growing inside of you.

There are also some huge misconceptions floating around about the "joys" of childbirth.

Oh yes, it's not all sunshine.

Even without complications, labor still usually lasts between 4-8 hours.

That's nearly a whole day of intense discomfort, coupled with ever-increasing painful contractions. Keep in mind, these women are considered to be the "lucky" ones.

As men, we will never be able to experience the physical sensations of childbirth.

Therefore, our role is relatively simple by comparison. We are there to provide comfort, support, and as much empathy as is humanly possible.

The last thing your partner needs during childbirth is your chastisement or unsolicited opinion.

Unfortunately for Hilaria Baldwin, her husband Alec did not understand the assignment.

In case you didn't already know...

Alec and Hilaria have been married for nearly 10 years.

The couple shares 6 children together, as well as Alec's daughter Ireland from his previous marriage to Kim Basinger.

In a recent Instagram story, Hilaria revealed that Alec acted like a total ass during the birth of their son, Rafael.

"Alec shushed me while I was in labor with Rafa," she captioned her story. "He was on the phone 'Shush! Can you keep it down?'."

Hilaria said that no sooner were the words out of his mouth that Alec began cowering in the corner.

Hey Alec — how about you try pushing something the size of a watermelon out of a hole the size of a lemon and see how quiet you are, why don't ya?

Hilaria joked that she remained in her marriage, despite her husband's total lack of empathy and support.

"Kept the marriage. Went on to have 522 babies after. I permit him in after I get the epidural," she went on to say.

""I'll spare you the details of my reaction for now," Hilaria finally stated. "But it never happened again."

Alec, what were you thinking? It's not as if you aren't practiced at this — you have a proverbial litter of children!

And furthermore, what were you doing talking on your phone while inside the delivery room?!

Even if Alec sometimes forgets his place, Hilaria has never once faltered when it comes to supporting her husband.

Over the past few months, Alec has been turning to his wife for emotional support.

In the wake of the tragic accident that took the life of armorer Halyna Hutchins, the renowned actor has confirmed that he's battling PTSD.

On the day that Alec's interview aired on ABC, Hilaria posted a throwback photo with an emotional caption.

"My Alec, I am here to heal any of your pain that I can," she wrote via Instagram.

"I am not going anywhere."

"Onward to being Alec and Hilaria, messy, emotions strong, but lots and lots of love—until the very end."

God, someone please hand me some tissues to wipe my tears!

Since that tragic day on October 6th, 2021, Alec has taken to rededicating himself as a husband and father.

Hilaria's Instagram is once again awash with family photos and captured outings. It would seem that nothing on earth can come between these two.

Not tragedy, nor a pigheaded comment uttered under the worst possible circumstances.
