TikTok's Latest Obsession Is Turning A Decorative Frog From Michaels Into A Purse

Hey, do you want to see something weird?

Then you're in the right place. TikTok users continue to push fashion boundaries, but frog purses might be their most ambitious trend yet. If you want to see someone turn a weird frog from Michaels into a functional purse, then let's do it. If you don't... keep scrolling anyway, I guarantee you secretly want to.

Meet the frog.

Don't worry. As real as this frog looks, I promise it is made of rubber and latex. This is the "Green Frog" by Ashland, available at Michaels right now for about $14.99 (depending on sales and coupons – ALWAYS USE A COUPON AT MICHAELS, PEOPLE.)

Sorry. I'm just very passionate about not paying full price at Michaels.

Here's what TikTok did to the frog.

This frog had no idea what it was in for. First, TikTok user @kelseygall19 laid a zipper track along the back of the frog and pinned it in place. Lookin' good so far.

Surgery came next.

Don't worry, it's just a little bit of surgery. Some cosmetic, structural things. You understand.

Kelsey cut a perfect line down the zipper track, then pulled out all of the recycled stuffing from inside it. Don't need that anymore!

The zipper went inside the frog.

To make it look cleaner, she unpinned the zipper and tucked it inside the frog, then re-pinned it. Now, she has the perfect surface to start sewing!

Boom, zippered.

Oh yeah. We're lookin' good here. Kelsey carefully sewed in the zipper. Raise your hand if you didn't realize you could sew latex! Just me? That makes sense, since I don't know how to sew at all.

A purse!

She attached a gold chain and boom, that's a purse right there. That frog is now something that can hold at least three small objects without looking insane.

Some users decided to try the trend, but took it WAY farther.

TikTok user Katie Lynn decided that she wanted a frog purse, but she wanted it in peachy-pink. Out came the spray paint, the acrylic paint, and the silver flakes.

He also got some beautiful accessories.

He got some pink shading, some silver flakes, and a beautiful little purple flower for his head. He also got his toenails painted, of course. Can't skip out on the toenails.

Wow, I love fashion.

This is what the frog looks like styled with Katie's outfits. I'm gonna call this a fashion win. It's ugly, but it's also so beautiful in that ugliness.

Never change, Gen Z. Never change.
