Viral Grilled Cheese 'Hack' Totally Confuses People Online

Who here loves grilled cheese? Oh my goodness, yum, right? Guess what? Tonight I have soup for dinner, and yes, we are making grilled cheese as a side dish. So, bam! There you have it.

But hold on a minute. I recently stumbled upon this TikTok video that claims to show us a better way to flip our grilled cheese. Check this out.

So let me ask you: How do you make grilled cheese?

I fry it on my cast iron pan. Basically, I fry the bread on both sides. Then, I put the cheese on one slice and close it with the other.

Next, I flip the entire sandwich one more time to get the cheese to melt on both sides.

That's just how I make it, and it works for me. But I guess everybody has their own technique. Am I right?

So I was surprised when I stumbled upon this video on TikTok.

This woman claims that she has an easier way to flip the sandwich. Okay, I bet you're all ears now, huh? Let's find out together what she means by that.

Check this out.

This lady lifts the sandwich with the spatula. Then, she picks up the pan and flips it over above the sandwich. And then she flips everything back onto the burner. Um, what? Hmm, what do you think of that?

Apparently, once she posted this video on TikTok, it went viral.

She had over 400K likes. Wow! I can't imagine why. But when you start reading the comments, you might understand. It seems most people think this is a little ridiculous, ha, ha!

I have to admit I was scratching my head when I saw the video, too.

I mean, what's the point of doing that? Why is it considered an easier method than using the spatula as you would normally do? I don't get it.

This person has a good point.

I usually add oil to my pan, so there will definitely be some spillage there, and that's not a great idea. Unless you want your burner to catch on fire, but please, don't do that.

Here's another valid concern.

I don't know about you, but when I make grilled cheese, there are always crumbs left behind on the frying pan. So this so-called easier method doesn't pass the smell test for me. Do you get what I'm saying?

What do you think?

Is this just another TikTok video that basically shows a ridiculous idea and they're calling it a #LifeHack? I'm inclined to think so.

Judging by the comments left on it, I think many folks feel this way, too. Next! Ha, ha!
