People Are Sharing Weird Things They've Seen At Other People's Homes

Everyone has their own style and taste when it comes to interior design and home decor. However, there are some things in people's homes that are definitely a bit out there and not normal.

However, those people totally find these things to be normal and fine, but we can't stop thinking about these stories people are sharing about other people's "strange homes."

Reddit user u/Colossus_of_Loads said that they find it strange when people "casually spit onto their carpet."

Other Reddit users agreed that they had seen it happen, too. But one chimed in saying in foreign countries, this is something that's pretty normal and done often.

"My friend and her family have a doggy door, but no dog. What do they use it for? They allow raccoons to come in and they feed them frequently. They are all so nonchalant about it," said u/Bojinglejangle.

Clearly, that's not normal.

Physical violence.

Reddit user u/XxScytherxX said that they had a friend whose parents physically fought often like it was nothing.

One time his dad punched his mom in the face and no one even batted an eye. Now, the parents are divorced.

An year-round Christmas room.

"They lived in a huge ass house and had one room dedicated to Christmas called 'The Christmas Room.'

It had a massive fake tree, unopened gifts, garland and lights and the creepy factor: Christmas music playing year-round," said Reddit user u/Dreamcrusher69.

Reddit user u/impossible_planet said that they went to someone's house that had a microwave on the toilet.

They were hoarders, so there was no room for it in the kitchen and they would microwave food in the bathroom to snack on.

Blood splattered everywhere.

"I had a friend in middle/high school who lived in a country house that smelled like puppy shit. One time I stopped over, and there was legit blood spatter on their kitchen walls. No one seemed concerned or eager to clean it up," said u/stackyjo.

Lots of dead people's stuff.

One Reddit user u/ImFawnedOfYou, said that they saw an older lady who had every single dead pet that they had taxidermied in their living room.

In addition, they also had their late husband's teeth sitting in a coffee cup in the living room, too.

"My friend's older brother had slippers made from his beloved dead dog's hide with the fur still attached. I thought she was joking at first but she was perfectly serious and I realized that's exactly what they looked like -- they were definitely not fake fur slippers," said u/ravegreen.

Just out there for everyone to see.

Another Reddit user said that they walked into the living room and saw a sex swing hanging from the ceiling. And, it was out there for everyone to see, without hiding.

It seems like that's something people would want to keep more private.

"Apparently my Niece does her makeup sitting on the floor with a mirror hanging low on the wall... she wipes the mascara brush clean on the carpet, there are black streaks everywhere on the carpet around the area she sits when doing this," said u/savage1ma.

Underage drinking is normal for some.

Reddit user u/ImAVibration said they slept at a friend's house when they were 11, and they were from a different country.

His parents came in and asked, "what they wanted from the liquor store." The two had about $50 of alcohol between them.

No walls, at all. Even for a bathroom.

"A friend of mine told me that when she was younger, she went to someone's house where there were no partitions or walls - just a huge open space. The toilet was sitting right in the middle of the room," said another Reddit user.

Nude portraits of kid's parents.

"Hanging over the toilet was a nude photo of her parents with black handprints on their private parts. I guess it was supposed to be "artsy". Either way I thought it was a pretty weird thing to hang in the main bathroom of their house," said u/gonekuckoo.

Reddit user u/Catterung said that they slept at a friends when they were 14-years-old and at 3 AM, they woke up to the entire family hanging out and having full-on conversations around them.

Apparently, they all came over in the middle of the night and thought it was totally cool.

Poop knives.

"A family I knew growing up had a [poop] knife. It was a large knife used to "cut up" big [poops] so they would flush. They had a very old barely working toilet and acted like this was the norm.

Worst part was they kept the knife with all the other utensils in the kitchen," said u/largefarva68.
