Bridesmaid Drops Out After Bridezilla Unleashes 'Rude' List Of Demands

Sometimes, we're going to find ourselves in a position where we really like someone but can't stand someone else they're close to. And when we're in that position, a lot of us will find ourselves putting up with more than we might expect to ensure that our dear friend doesn't have so much drama in their life.

And when one woman was asked to be a bridesmaid for her best friend's sister, that compulsion was a big part of why she agreed despite the fact that the bride had never been nice to her or her friend.

But while she didn't bail on the event when the bride told her, "You’re pretty, but not enough that anyone will look at you," the bride's list of demands for her wedding party turned out to be a bridge too far.

Although her friend expected the list to be completely unreasonable, the woman was more put off by how it was "phrased in a rude way."

There were 13 demands in total, and some of them got pretty specific about the appearance of the bridesmaids.

As the woman wrote, the bride required that any tattoos were covered up, that only she could be tanned that day, and also wanted a uniform look for hair that must be shorter than hers.

Curiously, she also said that her bridesmaids weren't allowed to wear glasses, which explicitly meant that bridesmaids would have to just go without any vision correction if they couldn't wear contact lenses.

But perhaps the most specific demand in this area was that nails had to be exactly this short and, "MUST be Essie Ballet Slipper pink. I WILL KNOW IF IT IS NOT BALLET SLIPPER."

As is often the case in bridezilla-like demand lists, she also tried to exert control over her bridesmaids' bodies.

She said she expected everyone to lose weight and "actually look good for her wedding day," which she figured would involve shedding 20 or 30 pounds in some cases.

And if there wasn't enough gall in that demand, she's apparently decided that none of her bridesmaids are allowed to be pregnant.

As she put it, "DO NOT GET PREGNANT. IF YOU ARE PREGNANT YOU WILL BE UNINVITED. This is the ultimate betrayal. You should want everyone to focus on me for my day and we all know pregnant people steal all the attention."

It also seemed that being her bridesmaid would get very expensive very quickly.

Not only did they have to pay for the dresses she picked for them but they also had to buy "bride squad" swimsuits and robes and pay for hair and makeup both on the "test run" and the day itself.

They would also be on the hook for the week-long bachelorette party she was planning to have in Mexico.

In her words, "What’s the point in having bridesmaids if they won’t hold my hair when I’m sick in Mexico?!"

In addition to all of these conditions, attendance at this bachelorette week, the bridal shower, the rehearsal dinner, the hair and makeup test run, bridal dress shopping, and brunch the morning after the wedding were all considered mandatory.

Finally, if any bridesmaids had a problem were these conditions, their options were either to "suck it up" or drop out, at which point they wouldn't be invited to the wedding.

As the bride put it, "If you can’t be there for me with all of this, you shouldn’t be there on my special day!"

So unsurprisingly, the woman who received this list sent what were totally her regrets that she couldn't attend, at which point she was left on read.

Funnily enough, because her family is still very close with the bride's there's a chance she'll be invited anyway.

Either way, she has no intention of jumping through all the bride's hoops and it's pretty hard to blame her.
