Bride-To-Be Gives Her Wedding Dress A DIY Makeover By Dyeing It Black

If you're currently planning a wedding, I have a very important question to ask you. Would you ever wear a black wedding dress? Hmm, that's a loaded question, huh?

I have to admit, I'm more lenient as far as the style is concerned, but I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to the color of my wedding dress. So, this story definitely intrigued me.

It's no surprise that white and off-white dresses are still the most popular option for weddings.

However, more colors are popping up these days. I've seen my share of stained dresses and ombré colors lately, and I like them a lot.

But there's one color we usually reserve for more somber occasions like funerals.

You know what color I'm talking about, right? It's black, of course. So, is it a good color for a wedding dress? It is for one bride-to-be.

Here's the whole story.

Alyssa Hevern, a bride from South Dakota actually decided to dye her wedding dress black, three months before her big day in August.

Wow, that's pretty bold. Don't you think? I don't know if I would be so confident about it, ha, ha!

Not only did she decide to dye it, period, but she wanted to do it all by herself.

See what I mean? She's crazy, right? Ha, ha! But that's not the end of the story. She shared her dress with TikTok, and her video exploded.

Alyssa has always wanted to wear a black wedding dress.

But, she ended up buying a white one at The Bridal Gallery for only $500. So, why didn't she buy a black dress, to begin with, huh? Well, as you might have guessed, black wedding dresses are usually quite pricey.

Well, things could have gone very bad.

But instead, to my surprise, the dress turned out absolutely beautiful. I mean, just look at it. It's pretty stunning, no? I actually had a very similar dress in my clubbing days. I could have given her that one, hee-hee!

After Alyssa posted her dress reveal on TikTok, ladies started commenting in droves.

Everybody was pretty much on the same page. They all said that the black color looks even better than the white dress and it really suits her.

This black dress is going to fit right in with the whole theme of the wedding.

The couple chose a dark and moody theme with elegance. The bridesmaids are going to wear silver to compliment the black dress and silver accents.

So are you now sold on a black wedding dress?

I think it depends on the person. I personally prefer a white dress or off-white. But I have to admit this black dress suits Alyssa much better, and that's why I love it.
