Congratulations are in order for supermodel and new mom Naomi Campbell, who welcomed her first child into the world this week, a baby girl who she calls her "beautiful little blessing." The 50-year-old shared the exciting news on Instagram to her 10 million followers, and fans couldn't be more overjoyed for the new mom.
Now, the model opening up to fans about what motherhood means to her.
Back in 2018, she Vogue Arabia about how kids bring out a bubbly side of her: "I'd love to have kids. I don't discount anything in life. I love kids and always will," she told the publication at the time.
A year before that, Naomi told Evening Standard that she was planning on having children, but didn't feel the need to rush.
"But now with the way science is I think I can do it when I want."
While chatting with WSJ. Magazine in October 2019, the supermodel said "not yet" when fielding a question about having children, adding, "I'll see what the universe brings me."
During the interview, the 50-year-old also reflected on the several generations of strong women in her family who shaped her into the woman she is today.
"I was quite happy to be on my own. I know how to cook. I know how to clean."
Now that's a point I can raise a dirty martini glass to while I make a note that I have to wash the dishes tonight.
Posting a sweet photo of her baby's feet in her hands, the supermodel shared the exciting news with her friends, family, and fans on Instagram.
"There is no greater love," she concluded.
"Congratulations to my daughter Naomi on the birth of her daughter, I’m beyond thrilled as I’ve waited a longtime to be grandmother," she captioned her post.
"CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im so happy for you mama!!!!" wrote Gabriel Union.
"Oh my God!!!!! Today is the day?? How absolutely incredible. How lucky she is and how lucky you are! What a wonderful Mother you will be. Blessings all around," wrote Marc Jacobs.
