People Are Making Little Free Seed Libraries So Everyone Can Get In On The Gardening Fun

Have you heard of free neighborhood libraries?

They're popping up all over the place, and they're so wholesome! People pop their favorite books into the library, and others are free to borrow them. It's a great way to build a community and share common interests with your neighbors!

Lately, the libraries have started to evolve. First was a tiny museum, and now? People are building seed libraries!

Seed libraries have popped up all over the place.

From coast to coast, people have been constructing seed libraries to share with their neighbors! Some were combined with existing neighborhood book libraries, and others are created specifically for seeds!

Even youth organizations have gotten in on it!

This amazing library was created by the St. Pete Youth Farm in St. Petersburg, Florida! The farm is committed to creating a safe space to grow food, help youth, and create a community of leaders!

They come in all shapes and sizes.

"The boxes are old post office boxes with slots. Bottom shelf is for plants, cuttings etc," Suzanne De Young wrote on Facebook.

I love the colors! This is so cool and creative!

Would you build a seed library?

I live in a busy downtown, but my neighborhood has committed itself to sustainable growing – we even have a community garden! It makes the neighborhood feel nice and cozy. Would you do this, too?
