Many parents are all too familiar with the routine of “drop-offs” and “pick-ups” from school. Parents of school-aged children routinely go early in the morning and then at dismissal in the afternoons — it’s a part of daily life for most parents.
Many parents don’t pay much attention to what they wear for this daily task.

In the early morning, many parents aren’t keen on paying close attention to their outfits, and many even wear PJs. But, in the afternoon, when they’re fully dressed, some outfits can be seen as “controversial” by others.
Recently, one school has sent a letter out warning parents.

Not only do students have to abide by a dress code for school, but now parents, too, need to pay attention to what they are wearing when they go for drop-offs and pick-ups.
The letter titled, “Playground Etiquette” was sent home to parents.

The letter, sent home to all parents, asked them to make more of an effort to dress appropriately for pick-ups and drop-offs at Seymour Primary in Crawley, West Sussex in the UK.
“Wearing clothes that are too skimpy or for other times of the day is not setting a good example,” the letter said.
Apparently, parents have seen it all during drop-offs and pick-ups.

While some parents never thought this would be an issue, some parents from the school say, “They’ve seen it all.”
The spectrum is quite large.
“I’ve seen mums in dressing gowns and slippers, and one wearing a see-through mini skirt and crop top on a cold, spring day — you could literally see everything,” one mom said, when asked about the outfit choices of parents at the school.
The morning drop-off seems to be the big ticket issue.

“In response to increasing numbers of parents wearing [pajamas] and, at times revealing clothing that looked like underwear, the school issued a note asking parents to consider dressing more appropriately,” co-headteachers Carol Collins and Emma Eardley said.
Many parents of the school agreed with the letter.

“Not to be outdone, another mum was showing such a full cleavage in a V-neck top that nobody knew where to look,” one parent said, talking about another mother at pick-up.
Other parents think it’s about setting a good example for their kids.

“Parents need to show a good example on standards of dress,” another said.
The school also has a strict dress code policy for students.

Seymour Primary in Crawley, West Sussex has students come to school in uniforms daily. Therefore, they hope parents will understand and be accommodating with their outfit choices from here on out.
