Valentina Sampaio Just Became Victoria's Secret First Ever Transgender Model

Is Victoria's Secret finally getting with the times? The brand has always been about perpetuating and promoting unattainable and unrealistic body standards, showcasing a "one-size-fits-all" kind of model.

Now, months after the brand's Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Edward Razek made insensitive comments about transgender and plus-size models, the lingerie brand has finally cast their first ever openly transgender model.

Brazilian model Valentina Sampaio just made history for the lingerie retail powerhouse store Victoria's Secret.

She just got cast as their first openly transgender model.

This announcement comes several months after the brand's CMO, Ed Razek, said they don't need to feature trans individuals.

His reasoning? "Because the show is a fantasy," suggesting that diverse individuals don't fit into the construct of their "fantasy."

It's been announced that Razek is now resigning. Coincidence?

Valentina hinted at the collab in an Instagram post.
