Miley Cyrus Says She Wanted To Stop Playing Hannah Montana 'The Minute She Had Sex'

Miley Cyrus has let the world know several times in her adult life that her Hannah Montana days are long gone.

But in a recent interview with Elle, she opened up about the very moment she realized she was ready to hang her wig for good.

In the past, Miley has been loud and clear about the fact that her "Hannah Montana" days were behind her.

Naturally, as an adult, she was tired of being pigeon-holed as a pre-teen Disney pop star.

In her 2013 "SNL" monologue, she went as far as saying that "Hannah Montana" was "dead".

She acknowledged that fans were probably looking forward to a Hannah-inspired skit, but she didn't let them down easy.

"I'm not gonna do 'Hannah Montana'. But I can give you an update on what she's been up to," she said.

"She was murdered."

She really did not hold back on that one.

Years later, on an episode of "RuPaul's Drag Race", Miley elaborated on why "Hannah Montana" came to an end.

While we all assumed she would simply say she outgrew that era of her life, she had something else in mind.

"What happened to her [Hannah Montana]?" RuPaul asked Miley.

"A lot of drugs," she sharply responded.

NATURALLY, this devastated fans (and by fans I mean ME) and was v upsetting, lol.

So yeah, it's been abundantly clear that Miley is very much over being "Hannah Montana" and possibly even just hearing about it?

In her most recent interview with Elle, she opened up even more about how much she's grown since her Hannah days.

She also divulged the exact moment she knew she had outgrown the role.

First, she explained how her role on "Black Mirror" as "Ashley O" reflected her "Hannah Montana" experience perfectly.

Did you see that episode? Insane.

She explained that when she read the script, she felt compelled to accept the role because it mirrored (no pun intended) her real life so perfectly.

"I read it and was like, 'It’s not even if I’m interested or not. It’s just that no one else can play this because this is my life. Like, you just took my life.'"

"The character is me. They twisted it up the way they always do, but the industry is already pretty dark."

"And at times, I’ve definitely felt like Ashley O," she added.

The interviewer then asked Miley if she ever wished she could take a break from "Hannah Montana" while the show was still being filmed.

Miley responded, revealing that as soon as she became an adult she felt silly continuing to play "Hannah".

"I did once I was 18 because it felt ridiculous," she said.

"The minute I had sex, I was kind of like, I can’t put the [expletive] wig on again. It got weird."

"I was grown up," she added.

To better explain her revelation, she told an anecdote about a time she performed at Disneyland.

"One time I went backstage at Disneyland, and Peter Pan was smoking a cigarette," she said.

Okay fist of all, traumatizing.

"And I was like, 'That’s me. That’s the kind of dreams I’m crushing.'"

She compared it to her 2010 bong scandal that left the parents of her young, impressionable fans up in arms.

At the time of the scandal, she was extremely apologetic.

"It was a bad decision, because of my fans and because of what I stand for," she admitted in a 2011 interview with Marie Claire.

But now, she acknowledges that she is more than the Disney character she played.

"That’s how everyone felt with the bong video, but I’m not a Disney mascot," she said. "I’m a person."

Now of course, we know Miley now LURVES a bong moment and doesn't care who knows it!

Here she is at her wedding pretending to smoke her bridal bouquet.

Miley also opened up about her sexuality in the interview, clarifying that just because she's in a heterosexual marriage doesn't mean she doesn't identify as bisexual anymore.

Instagram | @mileycyrus

"I’m in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women...I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most."

Miley also feels like she doesn't fit the role of a traditional wife.

Instagram | @mileycyrus

"I definitely don’t fit into a stereotypical wife role. I don’t even like that word.

And don't expect Miley to be popping out kids anytime soon.

Instagram | @mileycyrus

"We’ve been doing the same thing to the earth that we do to women. We just take and take and expect it to keep producing. And it’s exhausted. It can’t produce. We’re getting handed a piece-of-sh*t planet, and I refuse to hand that down to my child," confessed Miely.

"Until I feel like my kid would live on an earth with fish in the water, I’m not bringing in another person to deal with that."

Instagram | @mileycyrus

"I feel like that’s what all millennials are dealing with right now. Yeah. We don’t want to reproduce because we know that the earth can’t handle it."

While we're never stop missing "Hannah Montana," the new, grown-up version of Miley Cyrus is equally, if not more awesome.
