I don’t know about you, but I’m always looking for my next craft to get me through the week. I love what I get to write about every day, but I also want to make crafts when I get home! So, as I search through all the amazing DIYs on Pinterest, I’m keeping a list of things I want to do on the weekend.
These DIYs will definitely help you get through your week, whether that’s because they’re pretty to look at or you just can’t wait to do them!
1. I was never a huge fan of balloons, but then I came across balloon garlands and my thoughts on the topic totally changed.
I mean, they just look so intricate and beautiful! How could you not want one at your next party?!
Lovely Indeed gives us an easy rundown on how to create a pretty balloon garland for your next event.
And I can think of a few events I have coming up that could definitely use one of these bad boys.
2. I love this next DIY because you probably already have everything you need at home.
Plus, it’s super creative that someone decided to use wire scrubs to create a beautiful craft. So, rummage through your cupboards and drawers to find a couple scrubs, some skewers, and a bottle or vase!
Then take a page out of Enthralling Gumption’s book and turn those scrubs into super cute flowers for your desk.
People won’t even realize they’re actually from your kitchen until after they’ve complemented you 100 times over on them.
3. Believe it or not, making your own candles isn’t as difficult or as time-consuming as it sounds.
And the best part about this kind of DIY is that the possibilities are limitless when it comes to scent, shape, size, and color!
Rachel of The Crafted Life put together an easy-to-follow tutorial that anyone can use to make their own candles.
So, if this is something you’ve been meaning to cross off your DIY bucket list, Rachel’s set of instructions is a great place to start.
4. Is there anything better than a bonfire on a cool summer night?
Personally, I can’t think of much that beats an evening spent with friends and family by the fire, roasting marshmallows and listening to good music.
Even if you don’t have a large outdoor space, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy the warm flames of a crackling fire!
All you need is a fire bowl, like this adorable one Kara of A Kailo Chic Life came up with. With one of these by your feet, your toes will be toasty in no time.
5. Rather than tossing yet another bag into your closet where it’ll never see the light of day again, why not give it a chic makeover instead?
Choosing this route as opposed to buying a new bag is not only more fun, it’ll also allow you to keep more of your hard-earned money in your pocket.
Head over to CTRL + Curate to see how simple something like this purse upgrade can actually be to pull off.
Cat, the creator of the blog, managed to turn a plain purse into a fresh summer accessory that’ll look amazing with any outfit, and she did it using three simple materials: paint, tape, and a brush.
6. One of the best feelings when you’re crafting is trying something you aren’t 100% sure is going to work and having it turn out fabulous.
That’s exactly what happened to Brittni Mehlhoff when she decided to dye a faux sheepskin rug she picked up from Ikea.
Because the rug was made of synthetic materials, Brittni wasn’t sure what the dye would do to it.
However, as I’m sure you can see by this photo, her leap of faith paid off and she wound up with a crazy pretty accent rug that I’m head-over-heels in love with!
7. If you read my articles often, then you (along with my copy editor and editor) have probably noticed that I love plants, especially cacti.
You might also know that I can’t wear regular earrings, so I like to make my own clip-on versions.
Using some green clay, Bliss Makes created these adorable little cacti earrings.
And I think it’s probably pretty obvious that I’m heading home right now to make these sweet little things. You’ll see me wearing these to work next week ;).
8. Memo boards are super useful no matter what stage of life you are currently in.
I love them for sharing notes and important dates, but also for sharing photos. This easy project uses a wooden board and ribbon.
I really love the minimalist design, along with the black and white theme, that Homey Oh My created.
While I usually love a little color in my life, I can get behind this as well.
9. Did you know you can use ice to create a really cool pattern when you’re dying fabric?!
By melting the ice cubes on the fabric, you give it a unique pattern similar to tie-dye.
Dear Hometalk shared this fun project, which also uses a bed sheet instead of traditional fabric.
Doesn’t it make a really pretty tapestry for any room in your house?!
10. Okay, I know it’s a bit early for holiday crafts, but hear me out.
This next project could totally be used at any time of the year to create a really stunning centerpiece for any holiday, or just for fun.
Using floral foam, chicken wire, and some nails on a wooden board, you have the perfect base for a pretty centerpiece.
You can even change out the ornaments and flowers every season. Thanks Celebrate & Decorate!
11. If you’ve been wanting to get into concrete crafts, now is your chance.
They are super easy and super cheap to do, and all you need is a trip to your local hardware store.
A few plastic cups, some water, and a bag of concrete will get you really far if you want to create something cool.
It could be these planters like the team at Algodao Tao Doce created, or something else!
12. If you’re looking for something fun to wear this weekend around your neck, don’t spend $$$ at the store.
You can totally make a stunning piece of jewelry for much less using clay.
Ken Khan Jewelry shares some of their trade secrets for creating this really stunning piece.
This goes to show that anyone can have beautiful necklaces, even if you make them at home!
13. Save your soup cans for a super cute pen organizer DIY.
Seriously, it’s so simple, but it really makes a huge decor difference.
You simply wrap some pretty wrapping paper around the middle area of the soup can with sticky tape.
It only takes mere minutes to complete, so you can get on with your day!
14. You can forage materials from your own backyard to create this trendy and modern wreath.
Some twigs and branches, cotton ribbon, and a small piece of a copper plumbing pipe is all it takes to create the most darling wreath for your door or wall.
