I get that crafting can be daunting to those who don’t do it very often. As someone who *thinks* she can make almost anything, I often take for granted my crafting abilities. But, I also teach craft workshops and I’ve seen some people who think they suck at crafts make some pretty rad things. So, I believe in you crafting newbs!
These projects are relatively easy and make a big impact. If you follow along, I know you can do it!
1. DIY Minimalist Wreath
Minimalist wreaths are super popular right now, especially for the summer. You might as well start practicing now so that you’ll be a pro for the holidays.
All you need are some gold metal rings, fake florals, and floral tape to get started!
There really is no wrong way to make a wreath.
But, if you’re a bit nervous about making one for the first time, Purely Katie has the step-by-step instructions on how she made this one.
Trust me, the results will be totally beautiful and unique!
2. DIY Rainbow Accessories Hook
Tell me, what can be hard about wrapping some string around a rope and gluing them together?
This next project is a great way to work on your glue gun skills and create something fun and functional.
And you’ll be super impressed with yourself once you are done!

3. DIY Resin Photo Coasters
If you’re looking for a super cute wedding gift that is sure to make the bride cry ugly tears, you should give this project a try.
Resin seems daunting, but it’s actually a pretty easy medium to work with.
You can get it at the craft store and come up with all sorts of cool stuff. This uses photos, jar lids, and a resin glaze. Get all the deets at Something Turquoise !
4. DIY Woven Rug Pillow
One of the easiest sewing projects I’ve ever done was creating pillows. Whether you know how to sew or not, you can totally do this fun project!
Pick up a woven rug on clearance and then glue or sew the edges together.
Then slip in a pillow for a super trendy look! You can see exactly how Ashley did it over on Hometalk .
5. DIY Concrete Doily Dish
Got a bunch of vintage doilies you have no idea what to do with? Dunk those babies into some concrete to make a super cool catch-all dish!
Concrete can definitely seem like a scary medium to use, but it’s probably one of the easiest.

6. DIY Photo Transfer Clay Jewelry
I’ve heard of transferring photos to wood and other materials, but I’ve never heard of transferring it to clay!
This can definitely make for some really cool projects.
When transferring the black and white photos over to clay, you get a really cool vintage look.
You do need a laser printer though, so I’ll be checking out printer sales now. See how Saved By Love Creations got it done.
7. DIY Fan Mail Holder
This is definitely one of those projects I’m super impressed someone came up with, because it is super creative.
If you’ve got an old fan on hand that doesn’t really work, don’t throw it out!
It’s actually not that hard to take a fan apart and repurpose it as industrial decor in your home.

8. DIY Lace Print Drawers
Lace has always been a pattern and texture that I loved to play with, but I’ve always only used it in fashion and other sewing projects.
Turns out, you can paint with it too!

Isn’t the result really cool? I’ve also heard that you can use a similar technique to get a lace print on cakes as well!
9. I love a nice piece of jewelry as much as the next girl, but sometimes, you just want something that makes a statement.
Which is why making your own necklaces can be such a great DIY project!
And this hand necklace design by Paper & Stitch certainly makes a statement.
It’s a bit witchy and a bit weird, but it’s also a whole lot of cool. I’d definitely rock this!
10. Okay, this next DIY is exactly what I need in my life right now!
Using a couple of old purses, Lovely Indeed was able to create a couple of DIY saddlebags for her bike.
This is definitely not something I’d think of creating, but it actually makes a lot of sense.
Such a unique way to stay stylish — even when riding your bike!
11. I feel like I haven’t written about a pom-pom DIY in a few days, so you’re in luck!
You can pick up some woven baskets for pretty cheap, and pom-poms are super easy and cheap to make, too.
Once you’ve added some pom-poms to your basket, you can paint it or leave it as is.

12. I think people often forget to take a look in their closet to see what they can do with the items they already have.
Even as a crafty person, I often forget this! But there is actually a lot you can do with a bottle of paint.
Take this DIY from Ctrl + Curate, for example. A few white stripes totally transformed this bag!
It might have even saved this pretty thing from the donation bin.
