Coca-Cola Plus Coffee Has Enough Caffeine To Keep You Wired All Day

If there's one thing I've always thought while drinking an icy cold can of Coca-Cola, it's that this drink could definitely use more caffeine.

I need those jitters, people. I need that caffeine boost that kicks you like a out-of-control mule and helps you rocking all the live-long day.

One measly can of Coke just isn't doing that for me.

In 2006, Coca-Cola attempted to satisfy us caffeine fiends with Coca-Cola Blak.

This coffee-flavored version of the original coke wasn't exactly well-received. But Coca-Cola executives attribute that to bad-timing.

"That was a trend before its time," the company's chief technical officer, Nancy Quan, told CNN. "I don't think people were ready to have a coffee portfolio within the Coca-Cola brand."

Now the company is convinced the time is right and the people are ready for a new coffee-coke hybrid.

This time, they're determined to do things right, so they aren't bringing back Coca-Cola Blak. This time around, Americans get to get their caffeine kick from Coca-Cola Plus Coffee. Or, as it's known in international markets, Coca-Cola With Coffee.

Either way, you're getting Coke with coffee.

Unsurprisingly, this particular variation of Coke is more caffeinated than the regular stuff.

It also contains more coffee than Blak had, so you'll definitely be getting that caffeine boost you're looking for with every can you crush.

Apparently it tastes somewhat like coffee-flavored candy, because it's as sweet as Coke but has that coffee kick.

Currently this particular brand is only available overseas.

Countries like Australia, Italy, Spain, Thailand, and Poland are among those lucky enough to enjoy these sweet beverages.

But it looks like Coca-Cola might be gearing up to introduce the Coke-coffee hybrid to the good people in the U.S. of A.

Javier Meza, Coca-Cola's global chief marketing officer, said he believes there's going to be "space for a Coca-Cola With Coffee" in the US.

He anticipates Americans can expect to see the drink on store shelves as early as next year.

Successful international products don't always work in the US, but the overwhelming success of Coca-Cola Plus Coffee has the company considering keeping the good times rolling in America.

The company is also looking to capitalize on the current powerful coffee trend.

Back in 2006, consumer analyst Laurent Grandet said, coffee was not so big. But right now, it's "very trendy."

While nothing has been formally confirmed yet, I'm just going to remain cautiously optimistic that someday soon I won't have to book a flight to Europe just to get my hands on one of the caffeine-packed drinks.
