This Company Will Make You A Super Realistic Mask Replica Of Your Pet's Head

We buy a lot of strange things for our pets, from clothes to toys to artisanal foods that cost more than we're willing to spend on ourselves.

Often, we love our pets so much that we want to celebrate it with something special.

Now, usually that means getting some professional photography done of the cuties.

Or maybe going a step farther and having an artist paint a portrait of them.

The next level of crazy probably involves getting a stuffed animal that looks just like the pet.

But there's a new level of madness in town and it's mildly terrifying.

Creative planning office Shindo Rinka and modeling workshop 91 in Japan will make you a wearable mask that looks exactly like your beloved pet.

It's gazing into my soul...

The product is called "My Family."

In the press release, you can see process photos of how they made a mask based on a bengal cat name Rui, who lives in Kyoto.

I doubt Rui was impressed by the workmanship.

Apparently, the name “My Family” originates from the idea that in many cultures, we have bonds with our pets that mimic family ties.

We even leave behind fortunes for them, so making a mask in their honor isn’t really that wild.

The front of the mask is pretty solid, but the back is just fabric.

The company touts how this allows the mask to pack away compactly, meaning that you can take it wherever you may need it.

Yay?

Okay, I'll admit that I find it sort of cute in a creepy way.

Something about how the Rui mask also looks surprised at its existence tickles me.

The product isn't cheap, though, costing 300,000 yen. At the time of this writing, that's around $2,600 US dollars.

The company doesn’t just specialize in pet masks, either.

91 Tokyo

On their website, there is a gallery full of photos showing a hyper realistic mask of an orangutan.

And even creepy wall-mounted molds of... demons?

If that really tickles your fancy — 'cause what else would you want hovering over you at night?

Whether you're looking to get an animal replica mask, a demon, or just some good ol' special effects molds done...

91 Japan

...it seems like this studio is the place to go.

Now, whether you're willing top pay upwards of $2000 to look just like your pet is another story.

This isn't the only studio to do it, though.

Instagram artist @kamonohashizokei has tackled realistic animal masks for some time now — though there seems to be a focus on wild animals.

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!

But also, cats. Because why not?

What do you think? Would you consider something like this to honor your pet?
