Every once in a while, a neighborhood can get a surprise visit from a menace who guarantees that everyone will have something to talk about the next day.
I experienced this last year when some vandals apparently grabbed some spray paint from a nearby construction project and wrote rude words on random houses on my street.
However, that nuisance seems downright boring compared to the weird antics that one man had in store for a California neighborhood.
For homeowner Sylvia Dungan, even the timing of the activity was strange because the camera was picking up a lot of movement at 5 o'clock in the morning.
As she told KION, "My son doesn’t get home till 6:00 a.m. well then who the heck is that?”
Normally, we'd assume that a stranger caught lurking around our homes at odd hours might be trying to break in, but that apparently wasn't what this man had in mind.
Even though Dungan's camera caught three hours of this guy's activities, most of it was apparently spent repeatedly licking her doorbell like this.
And if that weren't enough, he apparently decided to follow this bizarre stunt up by peeing on Dungan's lawn.
Although she was obviously creeped out and concerned, Dungan decided to focus on the fact that no real harm was done here.
As she put it, "You kind of laugh about it afterwards because technically he didn’t do anything."
Weirdly enough, he didn't even seem to want this because the neighbors found it the next morning.
However, the weirdness of his...choice of leisure activity wasn't the only problem with it.
Police told KION they identified him as 33-year-old Roberto Daniel Arroyo and have charged him with prowling and petty theft.
Since both of these acts are misdemeanors, they didn't find it necessary to arrest him. Instead, they've reportedly contacted and questioned him about the incident.
Sadly, they haven't shared any answers to our biggest question: Why?
