Dog Dropped Off At Animal Shelter With All Of His Toys And Bed

It's well-known that there is a spike in the number of animals surrendered to shelters around the holidays.

Some people believe this is because animals are gifted around the holidays, but are then surrendered to a shelter when the person getting the animal realizes a pet wasn't right for them. Things can get complicated with pets, fast.

It's important to let the public know that adopting an animal is important and the following viral Facebook post shows why it is so important.

There are a number of potential reasons animals make it to an animal shelter.

They could have been found on the street living in poor conditions or the owner could have realized that they were not providing the best home for the pet and decided to give them a shot at being adopted elsewhere. Every case is different.

A common initial reaction to seeing a dog or cat surrendered to a shelter is to criticize the person who dropped them off, but not so fast.

It's important for people to remember that they don't have the full story and sometimes it's excruciatingly difficult for someone to drop off their pet at a shelter.

This brings us to a special case, Wall-E.

This heartbreaking photo of Wall-E has taken the internet by storm.

Along with the photo, MCACC West Adoptable Dogs wrote, "Here is Wall-E when he was getting surrendered by his owner. They brought all his stuff...like it was gonna be there with him 2 months later in his kennel."

The shelter went on to say, "This guy deserves a forever family who won’t give up on him ❤️ Please don't bash his previous owners though. We don't know the whole story."

They added, "What we do know is the owner was heartbroken and crying. It was hard to finally help them leave. The staff was crying with the owners. We don't believe this decision was taken lightly."

This picture went viral after originally being posted on November 24, 2018.

Luckily there is some good news for you on the Wall-E front!
