Professional Makeup Artist Fixes Women's DIY Looks

If you're a fan of DIY makeup, listen up. I love learning new makeup skills, too, but honestly, sometimes you really need a professional's help.

Why? It's because they know what they're doing, after all. Case in point, this professional makeup artist offered to fix women's DIY looks, and the difference speaks for itself.

Julia Ismailova is a makeup artist who wants to show women the subtlety in makeup.

She believes that when you use makeup properly, your look will improve tremendously. Most women tend to go heavy on the makeup, and the results don't suit them at all.

What do you think of the "before" photo on the left?

Apparently, this was a daytime look. Julia's version is much more subtle and therefore works a lot better for an actual daytime look. I think I agree with her understated choices here.

Julia explained this makeover here perfectly.

The eyeliner in the "before" photo "cuts" the eyes and only enhances the feeling of a sad look. Instead, Julia lightened the brows a bit and added warmth to this lady's face with blush and copper shadows.

I've got to say, what a transformation here, huh?

This lady looks so much younger with Julia's touch. Her own makeup made her look so much older and dated. I don't think that was necessary.

Simply changing up the lip color made a world of difference.

This 19-year-old beauty wanted to hide her flushed red cheeks.

But Julia opted to highlight this girl's naturally beautiful eyes and young-looking skin first. Then she left the cheeks with their natural rosiness because she believes it looks much more youthful and gorgeous.

Look at how beautifully Julia transformed her client's daytime look here.

This lady already looks like a model, so Julia only enhanced her natural beauty. I think she did a marvelous job here. Don't you think? This lady looks like a bombshell.

This young lady needed her eyebrows fixed, and Julia's team did that for her.

The client also used the incorrect red makeup and the wrong type of shading which made her look a little gloomy. Now she looks much better, no?

This beautiful lady was struggling to fit her look with contemporary standards.

She saw many imperfections on her face, but Julia saw them differently. Instead, she worked with them and not against them, and the client was happy in the end.

Julia was more than happy to work with this cool lady.

She didn't want to take away from her unique look. Instead, Julia showed this client some creative ideas for her makeup, and that she can still have fun with it, too.

Here's another fun client Julia got to work with recently.

It's obvious this lady has great style. Unfortunately, her original makeup was a little heavy-handed. Now that Julia has worked her magic on her, she looks so much more fresh and natural. Don't you think?

Julia used a few tricks of the trade to fix this lady's "before" look.

For example, using the peach blush perfectly sets off this woman's skin and hair color. Also, creamy lipstick or gloss looks much better and softer than a matte product.

How does Julia even prepare the skin for her transformations?

First, she does complete cosmetic care for about 15 minutes. Then, she uses color correctors to achieve a clear and even skin tone. This process sets the skin up for any natural-looking makeup.

Mature skin can be a lot more challenging to work with, but Julia is definitely a master at her craft.

She was able to transform this lady's look to be cleaner and more polished for her skin. I really like this new look.

Oh my goodness, how fabulous is this look.

I wish I could do my makeup as well as this. I think I would actually use makeup a lot more if my skills were half as good as this makeup artist's.

Here, Julia demonstrates some common makeup mistakes on herself.

It's pretty apparent which way looks better. I think there is something to be said about being subtle when using makeup.

Even if you don't like to use too much makeup, you shouldn't be afraid.

I feel like that definitely applies to me. I'm always wary of looking too made up. But, there's a fine line you need to keep in mind, that's all.

There are a few things you can do to enhance your beauty.

I wish all of us had somebody like Julia to show us what we're doing wrong. What do you think? I know I could use a lesson in makeup, that's for sure.

Looking natural shouldn't be that hard.

Am I right? You might have to invest in better quality makeup. That's something I'm starting to understand. In the end, the investment you make in yourself will pay off in the long run.

Wow, what do you think of Julia's makeovers?

Do you dig them as much as I do? I think a lot of ladies make the mistake of using too much makeup. It can actually have the opposite effect and age them instead.
