Our world is full of little surprises, ranging from unlikely scenarios to historical curiosities.
If you haven’t been out of your house in awhile, you might want to take a look at this list. It’ll stimulate your brain.
Last of its kind.
This isn’t the only one of Abraham Lincoln’s hats that’s still in existence, but it’s the only one that hasn’t faded and is in decent shape.
It’s missing something.
Without the peanut butter, Reese’s cups would just be…well, this. Someone forgot to put the PB into this cup.
Regionally appropriate.
Those shower tiles aren’t just randomly jagged. They’re cut to resemble mountains, which makes sense as this is in a mountainous area.
Bumper crop.
This pic from underneath a lemon tree shows an absolutely absurd number of lemons. It’s like lemons outnumber the leaves.
Icy window.
This is how all ice cubes should be: so pure and so clear that you’re not even sure if they’re in the glass or not.
Walking among giants.
This shot of Sequoia National Park really drives home the epic size that some trees along the Pacific coast really are.
It’s got a secret.
This is a relatively large pill and there’s no reason for it to be this way. If you break it open, it’s made of a smaller pill and filler.
Macro blueberry.
Have you ever wondered what the crosshatch pattern on top of a blueberry looks like up close? Wonder no more.
Got my eye on you.
This photo of a squirrel was taken so close that you can see the reflection of the photographer in the little critter’s eye.
To the stars.
Someone snapped this pic of a rocket launch in Kodiak, Alaska. There’s something hypnotic about watching a rocket hurtle towards the upper atmosphere.
The reddest apple.
Apples are plenty tasty on their own, but there’s something about seeing one with red flesh that makes it look extra delicious.
At least they bend a bit.
This person was born with fingers that are missing middle joints. I didn’t even know this kind of thing was possible.
High six.
While we’re on the topic of unusual hands, check this out: an x-ray of someone who has an extra finger.
You don’t see that everyday.
The last Studebaker rolled off the line more than half a century ago, but someone spotted this pristine Studebaker Hawk in a parking garage.
Original glory.
If you love parquet floors as much as I do, you’ll appreciate the restoration of this 1930s floor to its original sheen.
Worth its weight in silver.
This dollar bill from 1899 shows just how much has changed over 120 years or so: it’s still called a ‘silver certificate’.
Oops.
This misprinted penny has to be worth more than one cent. You don’t often see coins that have been minted wrong.
Magnets are here.
Someone posted this image of their magnet delivery. I guess this makes it easy to deliver them, at the very least.
Where the internet comes from.
Lots of us have fiber optic internet but when you look at the width of a fiber optic cable, it’s hard to believe that it delivers so much entertainment.
Imprinted.
This abandoned home had a doily on its coffee table. It had apparently been there so long that it left this impression.
