10+ TV Characters Who Got A Happy Ending They Didn't Deserve

When watching our favorite television series, we want the good characters to get a happy ending and the bad characters to get what they deserve.

However, things don't always turn out that way, even on television where things are all made up.

There are some characters that get a way better ending than they deserve after the horrible things they have done.

Carrie Bradshaw from *Sex and the City.*

HBO

Yes, Carrie is the main character, but she's also kind of the worst.

The fact that she ends up with Big after being a cheater, a bad friend, and just overall self-absorbed is hard to take. However, as Big can be awful, too, maybe they deserve each other

Also, Big from *Sex and the City.*

Truthfully, there were some major character flaws with both Carrie and Big. They were both awful to each other by turns, and they really just weren't the best match.

However, some fans have pointed out that Big was a jerk and not a man you'd really want to be with.

Chuck Bass from *Gossip Girl.*

The series really made a mistake when they started out having Chuck assault two of the female characters. They spent the rest of the show trying to make Chuck seem like a decent guy despite his flaws, but it's hard to forget what he did.

If they wanted him to deserve a happy ending, some fans feel the character should have been written differently from the beginning.

Angela from *The Office.*

NBC

Angela and Dwight have a horrible relationship, but the show gave them a beautiful wedding and ending.

However, Angela spent the entire series bullying her colleagues, slut-shaming women, being homophobic, and also having affairs. Dwight was not great either, but Angela didn't deserve a sudden redemption.

Dan Scott from *One Tree Hill.*

Giving Dan a redemption arc was one of the weirdest things that the series ever did, given just how truly awful he was.

He was always one of the main villains, and he treated his sons and the women in his life in an awful way. Then, he literally murdered his brother, Keith, in a truly heinous way.

Ted from *How I Met Your Mother.*

Ted Mosby might be the main character in the series, but there are some fans who hated the ending with Robin.

While Ted did go through something tragic after losing his wife, he then went back to Robin after all of it. It was supposed to be a happy ending for them both, but Robin probably deserved better.

Tyrion Lannister from *Game of Thrones.*

HBO

While Tyrion might be a fan favorite, some fans feel he didn't deserve a good ending after how he acted in the last half of the series.

He made a lot of mistakes after helping Daenerys, and we also can't forget what he did to Shae.

Rumpelstiltskin from *Once Upon a Time.*

While redemption arcs can be amazing if pulled off correctly, sometimes they are poorly planned and way too forced.

Some fans felt that Rumpelstilskin's redemption arc wasn't natural, and the things he did throughout the series shouldn't be forgiven.

Fleabag

The entire point of this character is that she's deeply flawed, but it's still frustrating to some viewers that she didn't really ever learn much from her mistakes.

In the end, she got a pretty good ending despite how awful she was.

Dan Humphrey from *Gossip Girl.*

The twist ending that Dan was actually Gossip Girl was already strange enough, but the fact that Dan got a happy ending after everything he did annoyed many fans.

It makes no sense that Serena would be with him given that he was backstabbing her and everyone else the entire time.

Michael from *The Office.*

The Office often tries to make Micahel likable, but it's hard for some fans to excuse the long list of inappropriate things he did.

The series gives him the woman of his dreams and the family he's always wanted, but he spent years harassing his employees. So, maybe he didn't deserve such a nice ending.

Tom Haverford from *Parks and Recreation.*

NBC

Tom eventually gets engaged and also finds success in business, but not all fans feel he deserved this ending.

While most of the characters from the series deserved good things, Tom was selfish and kind of a creep.

Walter White from *Breaking Bad.*

While Walter's wife, Skyler, might have gotten tons of hate from viewers, but Walter probably should have gotten more.

He ruined pretty much everything and everyone around him, and yet he still got to have all of his final plans be completed perfectly.

Negan from *The Walking Dead.*

AMC

Negan has done some truly awful things, and while most of the characters from the series have had morally grey moments, his redemption arc was just too much.

The list of violent things he's done is long, and it doesn't make sense that he's become a good guy on the show.

Ross from *Friends.*

NBC

It's no secret that Ross Geller gets critiqued a lot lately, and this is because he did a lot of bad things on the show.

He's overly jealous, selfish, and not a good friend or partner. Yet, despite all of this, he gets his happy ending with Rachel.
