Pete Davidson Will Lead 'It’s A Wonderful Life' Reboot

Way too many things about Christmas has changed since I was a kid. I miss the days when everything was about celebrating the holiday, and being with your family — not about Black Friday sales at the mall, or what the latest "gotta have it" gadget is.

One of the lasting memories of my childhood is watching It's A Wonderful Life with my family every Christmas Eve.

The story of George Bailey and his family overcoming life's greatest obstacles is one that is timeless and will live on forever.

If you don't cry at the end of *It's A Wonderful Life* I don't think we can be friends. Seeing the town of Bedford Falls come together to raise the $8,000 for George while everyone sings "Auld Lang Syne" makes me blubber EVERY YEAR!

That's the thing about timeless classics — they're classics for a reason! They should remain in their perfect, pristine condition and should never be retouched, or remade!

However, it seems 2020 is the year of remakes, AKA, the year movie production companies have run out of unique ideas!

So when I heard that *SNL* star Pete Davidson had signed on to do a remake of the 1946 classic, I was VERY skeptical.

It's nothing against Pete, I think he's a cutie patootie and all the kids are obsessed with him these days.

I just don't know if he's GEORGE BAILEY material!

Needless to say, James Stewart's shoes are hard ones to fill!

Thankfully, it's not a full-blown remake, so we can ALL CALM DOWN!

This one-night-only live virtual table read of the beloved script is set to stream online on Sunday, Dec. 13, a per Deadline.

The script-reading cast if filled with Hollywood heavy-weights. In addition to Pete Davidson, fans can tune in to see celebrities such as such as Mia Farrow, Ellie Kemper, Bill Pullman, Richard Kind, Carol Kane, Ed Begley Jr., Diedrich Bader, B.D. Wong and Michael Shannon.

Of course, I can't forget to mention the "special surprise guests" who will also be making an appearance!

If that list of celebrities hasn't sold you on the revamped version, how about the fact that this is all being done for CHARITY?! Now that's the Bailey spirit!

Tickets are available for $50 to $250 with proceeds benefitting the non-profit Ed Asner Family Center, which is dedicated to promoting mental health and enrichment programs for special needs children and their families.

Tickets can be purchased at EdAsnerFamilyCenter.org.
