There are very few people in this world who are 100% good . You just know looking at them or talking to them once that they’re goodhearted, kind people, and that they deserve the best the world has to offer them.
Obviously, I’m not one of those people, as evidenced by all the sarcastic comments I leave on Facebook, but Dolly Parton definitely is. Dolly Parton is so good that instead of complaining about how awful 2020 is like the rest of us have been doing, she went out and did something about it!

Dolly Parton is an absolute angel.
Not only is she one of the best musicians and songwriters of our time (she wrote ‘Jolene’ and ‘I Will Always Love You’ in one single night! I can’t even watch two movies in one night without getting confused and falling asleep on the couch!), but she’s a huge humanitarian on top of it.

She makes the rest of us look bad, but she looks so good doing it.
That’s why it wasn’t a surprise when, back in April, Dolly made a very generous donation to a very good cause — the coronavirus.
“My Longtime friend Dr. Naji Abumrad, who’s been involved in research at Vanderbilt for many years, informed me that they were making some exciting advancements towards research of the coronavirus for a cure,” Dolly wrote on Instagram at the time.
Dolly explained that she had created the Dolly Parton COVID-19 Research Fund.
“I am making a donation of $1 million to Vanderbilt towards that research and to encourage people that can afford it to make donations,” she said.
Obviously, this was an incredible gesture, but it turns out that it had some pretty big results that we’re seeing now, half a year later!
Recently, the world finally got some much-needed good news when word that a vaccine for the coronavirus was showing incredibly good signs of effectiveness.
The vaccine, created by Moderna, was partially funded through the Vanderbilt Medical Center, which just happens to be where Dolly made her donation.
The Dolly Parton Research Fund is even specially referenced as a supporter within the article in the New England Journal Of Medicine.
Dolly’s response to learning that her donation was part of the success of the vaccine was as kind and humble as you’d expect.
“That’s what I understand this morning,” Dolly told Today about her dollars making a real difference. “I’m just happy that anything I do can help somebody else, and when I donated the money to the Covid fund, I just wanted it to do good.”
“Evidently, it is!” she said.
“Let’s just hope we find a cure real soon,” Dolly said with her trademark cheerfulness.
This is actually amazing — after all these years of saying that Dolly Parton saved my life, it turns out she might literally have done just that!
