All The Ways Kristen Stewart Is Similar To Princess Diana

Let's be honest, Kristen Stewart is probably not the first person to spring to mind when you think of the late, great, Princess Diana.

But as it turns out, they have a lot more similarities than we may have thought — which is precisely why she was chosen to play the role of Princess Diana in her upcoming film, Spencer.

In case you missed it, it was recently announced that _Twilight_ star, Kristen Stewart, is going to be playing the role of the late, Princess Diana, in her upcoming film, *Spencer*.

The film is named after Diana's maiden name, BTW.

I can already tell that it's going to be Oscar-winning material!

While the movie isn't going to touch on Diana's death, it is going to explain how her's and Prince Charles' marriage unravelled.

Right down to the moment that she knew the marriage had reached its expiration.

Allegedly, this was around the time that Princess Diana had decided she no longer wanted to be apart of the royal family.

“It’s about finding herself, about understanding that possibly the most important thing for her is to be well, and to be with herself and by herself,” the film's director told Deadline.

“That’s why the movie is called Spencer, which is the family name she had before she met Charles.”

“It’s about finding herself, " the director explained, adding that — at the time — Diana was going through a period of self-discovery.

The film is going to highlight the period of Diana's life when she realized that Charles might have not been the right partner for her, and his family might have not been the right fit for her either.

"About understanding that possibly the most important thing for her is to be well, and to be with herself and by herself,” the director added.

“That’s why the movie is called Spencer, which is the family name she had before she met Charles."

"It’s very contained, set over a few days in Sandringham. They spent Christmas there for many years and that’s where we set the movie in the early ‘90s, around 1992, " she said.

The director explained that they're containing the film to the three days leading up to Diana's big realization.

"We’re not specific. It’s Christmas Eve, Christmas and Boxing Day, three days, very contained."

Anyway, at first glance, Kristen Stewart may not appear to have virtually anything in common with Princess Diana.

But after some further investigating, that shockingly is far from true!

They, in fact, have a whole lot in common.

I mean, aside from having short, blonde hair, Kristen actually posesses a lot of the same characteristics that Diana did.

She is unapologetically herself, classy but bold and uninhibited, fashionable, and most of all, strong-willed!

Sound familiar?

Not to mention, K-Stew knows exactly what it's like to be hunted down and dissected by the press over her personal life choices.

Both Kristen Stewart and Princess Diana were taken apart for the cheating scandals that surrounded them.

The director pointed out that Kristen's mysterious qualities are going to be a perfect fit for the role, BECAUSE of those qualities she shares with Diana.

"Kristen can be many things, and she can be very mysterious and very fragile an ultimately very strong as well, which is what we need."

"The combination of those elements made me think of her. The way she responded to the script and how she is approaching the character, it’s very beautiful to see."

"I think she’s going to do something stunning and intriguing at the same time. She is this force of nature."

So not only do they share that same mysterious quality, but you can see by the photos we've been strategically placing here, that they also both appreciate a sweet sense of style!

Who else would look better with that cropped hair than Stewart?

There's no doubt in my mind that Kristen Stewart — surprising as it may be — is the best candidate to play Princess Diana. She's going to knock it out of the park!
