10+ Facts About Kristen Stewart Fans Didn't Know

Thanks to the recent news of Kristen Stewart playing Princess Diana in the upcoming royal film, Spencer, everyone is talking about her.

But when it comes to this actress, how much we do really know about her?

There's the obvious, like her past in Twilight, but did you know that she actually started acting as a child? Or that she once gave Josh Hutcherson a turtle?

This, plus more, in these 10+ facts about Kristen Stewart that fans didn't know...

1. Her love of acting comes from her parents who have always worked in the entertainment industry:

Her mother is a script supervisor and her dad is a stage manager.

She called them "hardworking crew members" to E! in 2014.

Growing up, though, she initially wanted to be a camera grip like her brothers.

That all changed when she landed her first role in The Safety of Objects.

"That was the day my dream of being a grip or a script supervisor shattered, and my life opened beyond my wildest dreams."

2. She famously cheated on Robert Pattinson:

Kristen found herself at the center of a scandal when she was photographed kissing her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders.

Unfortunately, this happened while she was still dating Rob and also while Rupert was married...

Years later, she finally opened up about the horrible slut-shaming she received as a result.

3. She had to wear colored contacts in *Twilight*:

She has gorgeous green eyes, but she had to cover them up with brown to match the description of Bella Swan.

Then, in the franchise's final film, she traded these for amber-colored to make her look like a vampire.

The experience is one that she'd rather soon forget.

"That is one thing I can't wait to say goodbye to is the contacts," she told MTV.

"They just kill you. [They give you] dead face," she told the publication in 2011."

4. She was the highest-paid actress in Hollywood in 2012:

According to Forbes' list of the highest-paid actresses, she nabbed their top spot with an income of $34.5 million from May 2011 to May 2012.

Not too shabby. And she did this at just 22 years old!

5. She's proud of her work on *Twilight*:

While her acting in the vampire movies is still made fun of to this day, Kristen begs to differ.

"Anybody who wants to talk [expletive] about Twilight, I completely get it, but there's something there that I'm endlessly, and to this day, [expletive] proud of. My memory of it felt—still feels—really good," she said.

6. She also shared her distaste for those who say she's not a "serious actor."

"Say I do a big franchise movie about a vampire that falls in love with a normal girl. It's like, 'Now do you want to show them that you can be a real, serious actor?' It's like, 'Was I not being a real, serious actor?'"

While she grew up as a child actor, she always had her sights set on something bigger.

"I think by default I wanted to be an actor because, on a movie set as a little kid, the only thing that you can do is be an actor. And I was really enthralled by the whole process," she told Interview Magazine.

"At that point I just really wanted to be on sets, going to a thousand different places, and work as hard as my parents work. Both my parents work in film. They're crew. I love movies, and I just wanted to be involved."

She continued:

"I got really lucky. I auditioned for a while and then started making films. I used to say that I always wanted to be the youngest director. But now I'm like, ‘No, I'm going to wait until I'm properly ready to do that.'"

11. She once gave Josh Hutcherson a turtle for his 12th birthday:

This happened in 2005 while the two were filming Zathura.
