10+ Actresses Who Deserve More Credit For Their Work

When you think of Hollywood's top actresses, certain names come to mind, that is for sure.

For most, this list includes Meryl Streep, Charlize Theron, Margot Robbie, and more.

While no one can deny that these actresses are talented, they're not the only main players in the game.

Here are 10+ actresses who deserve more credit for their work.

1. Jennifer Lopez

She's a singer, dancer, and actress, but she doesn't get enough credit for that last one. A lot of this has to do with the kind of movies she's done, as romantic comedies aren't often well-reviewed.

If you catch the star in Hustlers, though, you'll see her full range of talent.

2. Kristen Stewart

A lot of hate for the star stems from her portrayal as Bella in Twilight. But what people fail to realize is this could have more to do with the lines she was given, rather than her actual acting.

Plus, she's been amazing in her other roles, including Charlie's Angels and Adventureland.

3. Emily Osment

While Miley Cyrus skyrocketed to fame after Hannah Montana, the same couldn't be said for Emily who played her best friend.

Her talent was sadly overshadowed. While Miley focuses on singing, you can catch Emily these days in Mom and Young and Hungry.

4. Alyson Stoner

There's so much more to this actress than just being "the girl in the Missy Elliot video."

She's also a singer, dancer, and choreographer. Currently, she teaches dance at Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles, CA.

5. Anne Hathaway

When the actress won her first Oscar, things were supposed to be on the up and up.

But sadly, her awkward acceptance speech won her more haters than fans. They even call themselves "Hathahaters."

This has overshadowed some of her most incredible work, including *The Devil Wears Prada* and *Les Miserables*.

She was also hated on for her attempt at co-hosting the Oscars with James Franco.

Yes, it was horrible (just look up the videos), but things like this shouldn't overshadow pure talent.

6. Robin Wright

She's been capturing our hearts ever since she played Buttercup in The Princess Bride, but never got the true recognition for it.

This could stem from the fact that she's never really been given the chance to play a leading role.

The only time she really did was when she took over for Kevin Spacey on *House of Cards*.

With Kevin being fired due to sexual assault allegations, this is likely not how Robin wanted to get the job.

Even when she took over, not much was heard about how she did in the role.

7. Emmy Rossum

A lot of people doubted the actress when she was first cast to play Fiona Gallagher in the American version of Shameless.

That's because she looked and seemed too innocent to play the tough-as-nails Fiona.

But as soon as the first episode aired, she blew everyone away with her range.

In 2016, the actress even lobbied to be paid equal pay as her Shameless co-star, William H. Macy.

In the end, she won her battle, earning the respect of people everywhere.

8. Maisie Williams

This tiny-but-mighty star sure has talent!

If you want a glimpse of that, just take a look at the progression of her character, Arya, on Game of Thrones.

Her work on the show even earned her two Emmy nominations.

9. Constance Wu

It's hard to outshine Jennifer Lopez, but this actress managed to do that in Hustlers.

She also shined in the ABC comedy, Fresh Off the Boat. Despite being nominated for several awards for that, we have to ask: where's her praise??

10. Jennifer Aniston

She was beloved as Rachel Green on Friends, but as soon as the actress moved onto movies, the reception was lukewarm.

A lot of this had to do with her doing comedies instead of more serious movies. Thing is, though, she shines in comedies! Just consider Horrible Bosses, Office Space, and Just Go With It.

11. Gina Rodriguez

TV actors often get typecast. This happened to many of the Friends actors and it's even why Steve Carrell chose to leave The Office when he did.

Sadly, the same ended up happening to the Jane the Virgin star.

She's been unable to shake her character from the show.

This is despite her being an incredible, versatile actress.

To catch a glimpse of this, catch her in Someone Great and Miss Bala. She has a knack for playing relatable characters.
