Toronto based musician The Weeknd has made a large contribution to a number of major Black Lives Matter causes and is sharing the receipts, and the message, on Instagram.

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, contributed $200,000 to Black Lives Matter Global Network, $200,000 to Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights campaign, and $100,000 to National Bail Out.

These donations total in at $500,000, an amazing contribution to the cause!

Sharing the receipts on Instagram, The Weeknd wrote: "keep supporting our brothers and sisters out there risking everything to push for actual change for our black lives.

He continued: "Urging everyone with big pockets to give and give big and if you have less please give what you can even if it's a small amount. #blacklivesmatter."

Social media has been filled with praise for the 30-year-old's activism and generosity. Needless to say, we need to see more of this from other celebs!
