Kristen Bell Admits That Her 5-Year-Old Daughter Is 'Still In Diapers'

Parenting and all of the milestones that come with it all happen at different stages for everyone. Sure, there are times you can start to expect things, like first words or first steps, but other things depend entirely on the kids and parents themselves, like how long they might breastfeed for or when they start to really talk.

Kristen Bell has recently opened up about how different her kids are when it comes to one particular milestone: potty-training.

Kristen and her husband Dax Shepard have two daughters: Lincoln, who is 7, and Delta, who is 5. While Kristen and Dax are notoriously private about pictures of their daughters, they aren't shy about sharing their parenting journey in other ways.

Their method of parenting is definitely unique.

Kristen once revealed that they lock Delta in her room when it comes time for bed, although she added "After about 10 minutes, she'll wind herself down. And then, before we go to bed, obviously, we unlock it."

Kristen and Dax also explained their potentially-controversial way of handling "the talk" when Lincoln asked where babies comes from.

"We went through the anatomy: penis, vagina, ovum, sperm. We're laying it all out," Dax said. Apparently, Dax continued, Lincoln found this so boring that she simply got up and left the room in the middle of the conversation.

Obviously, Kristen and Dax are not afraid to share their parenting experiences.

In a new episode of her show *Momsplaining With Kristen Bell*, Kristen opened up about the differences she's had with Lincoln and Delta.

Kristen revealed that, when her first daughter was 21 months old, "we merely suggested that she use the toilet in the other room and [she] never wore another diaper beyond that."

Kristen explained this gave her and Dax a misguided view of how easy potty training is.

"We were lying in bed giggling about this, my husband and I, like, 'Why does everyone make a big deal out of this potty training?'"

"It's so easy. Just tell the kid to use the toilet," she joked. But then she revealed that it has not been as easy with her youngest daughter, Delta. While Lincoln was just under two years old when she learned, it's taken Delta much longer.

"Currently, my youngest is 5½, still in diapers," Kristen said.

Kristen's guest on the show, Maya Rudolph, said, "It's real relative, isn't it?" to which Kristen replied, "Yes, because every kid is so different."

Every parent knows that each kid is going to do things at their own pace, and it looks like Kristen Bell is no exception to that!

Public opinion has been split on Kristen's confession.

"Hopefully, she means pull-ups at night... otherwise, that is messed up. We potty-train to speed up the process. But any 4 year old kid, socialized at all, would want out of them at that age," one fan tweeted.

Some fans sympathized.

"My 4 year old is. I’m having the hardest freaking times!" commiserated one fan in a tweet.

"Quit the mom-shaming. Her child won't be showing up to college still in diapers. She'll be ready when she's ready and it's none of your business," added another.

Others just felt like this was something Kristen didn't need to share.

"There are moments when I find Kristen (and Dax) hilarious; then there are moments she's cringey. This is one of those times. This crosses the line to awkward, oversharing and feeling so sad for her 5 year old that her mom felt she had to share that publicly," tweeted a fan.
