Identical Twins Receive $1M In Scholarships And 38 College Acceptances

Applying to college is a difficult time. There are financial and academic considerations to make, and that's before you even factor in the day-to-day reality of figuring out where you're going to spend the next four years of your life.

If you're hard-working enough, though, you'll find that all the schools want you — as exemplified by two impressive twin sisters from Milwaukee.

Decisions, decisions.

Anyone who's gone to college understands the stress of college applications. Often, it's hard to get any school at all interested in you. And if you don't have scholarships, things will get costly.

Arielle and Arianna Williams are great students.

These twin sisters have their pick of basically any school.

"We've always been those overachievers throughout school, period," Arielle told reporters from WDJT-TV, a CBS affiliate in the Milwaukee area.

They received lots of offers.

The twins were accepted by an incredible 38 schools each. This was due not only to their near-perfect grades, but also their extracurricular activities. They'll split valedictorian and salutatorian duties at their upcoming high school graduation.

They got scholarship money, too.

Together, Arianna and Arielle received nearly a million dollars in combined scholarship money, which should help them greatly as they continue their academic journey into university.

They're staying close to home.

Ultimately, they both decided to accept offers from Marquette University. In addition to its fine academic reputation, Marquette has another big draw: it's located in the girls' hometown of Milwaukee.

Their principal is proud.

“We couldn’t be more proud of their growth, choices and their ability to persevere with joy in the face of obstacles,” said their high school principal, Judith Parker. “They have traveled, organized community service projects, met Michelle Obama and represented our school inside of our walls and throughout our city. We are proud of them and the entire Class of 2020 and excited for the next chapter in their lives as they take this same drive to college."

Marquette is happy to have them on board.

While the girls have all kinds of success in their futures, it's also important to accept failure.

“It’s okay to fail sometimes. You gotta accept your failures,” said Arianna. “Just come back harder. Do the most! They told us we were doing the most. Do the most and go above and beyond.”

The sky's the limit.

Adrianna and Arielle will start studying nursing at Marquette this fall. In addition to their remarkable college application process, they'll make history by being the first members of their family to attend university.
