Queen Elizabeth, 94, Has Reportedly Been Spending Quarantine Riding Horses Every Day

While we're all self-isolating, it's important that we keep active no matter our age or our ability level. Queen Elizabeth is definitely following that advice.

Information about the coronavirus pandemic is rapidly changing and Diply is committed to providing the most recent data as it becomes available. Some of the information in this story may have changed since publication, and we encourage readers to use online resources from CDC and WHO to stay up to date on the latest information surrounding COVID-19.

The Royal Family has not been untouched by the current pandemic.

In March, it was revealed that Prince Charles had tested positive for the novel coronavirus himself, although he was reportedly only showing "mild symptoms" and was "otherwise in good health."

It was likely that some of the many public events that the royal family attends may have been where he contracted the virus.

It was suspected that Charles may have come in contact with someone with the virus at one of these events. It makes sense that other royalty, like the Queen, would then become very vigilant about obeying the lockdown orders.

Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, had self-isolated, following medical recommendations.

“Having recently gone through the process of contracting this coronavirus, luckily with relatively mild symptoms, I now find myself on the other side of the illness but still in no less a state of social distance and general isolation," Prince Charles shared in a video on the Clarence House twitter account about his fight with the virus.

As for the Queen, Her Majesty was working for as long as she could before the country went into lockdown.

According to sources speaking to Vanity Fair, the Queen is "frustrated" to be forced to sit out her usual events, like garden parties, but is planning to return to Buckingham Palace as soon as it is safe for her to do so.

They revealed that fall events are being planned for Her Majesty.

“The idea that we won’t see the Queen in public again is certainly not the case,” said the source. “The Queen is planning to come back to work and when she does I think we’ll see her work harder than ever.”

In the meantime, however, Her Majesty has been keeping busy.

The sources report that the Queen has been engaging in horseback riding — every single day. The source claims she's "riding daily" and keeping "in excellent spirits." They add that "One of the nicest things for the Queen is that she's getting to spend more time with her husband than she usually would."

That's more exercise than I get!

“They have dinner together in the evenings and I imagine the Queen is of the generation where she dresses for dinner. She is riding out every day and is making the most of this time," the source revealed.

It's awesome that Her Majesty is getting out and staying active!

Fans of the royal family have been delighted by the news.

"This justifies Queen Elizabeth's title as the longest reigning horse girl alive," one Twitter user joked, and honestly, it's pretty impressive! Most horse girls I knew tended to grow out of the obsession by college, but Her Majesty is still going strong!

"Holy Cow! That's pure AWESOMENESS no doubts on that!" one fan wrote.

"Don't usually share Royal Family drama as we have enough of our own but the Queen just made me respect her even more. Prince Philip drives carriage now since car [wreck] & she rides both in their 90's!" they continued.

"She is incredible!"

"QEII has always loved horses, she has a favorite horse and rides about every morning! It's good for the soul! We wish her more years of riding!" one fan wrote.

It is super impressive that she's still getting out there every day!

I can't even convince myself to go for a walk every day, and I'm not in my 90s or the Queen of England (obviously).
