Fans Think Chris Hemsworth Subtly Shaded Miley Cyrus While Talking About Brother Liam

It's been about eight months since Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth called it quits and filed for divorce.

But it seems like Liam's brother, Chris Hemsworth, may still be holding a residual grudge toward Miley.

In a recent interview with News.com.au, he subtly shaded her, while applauding Liam for getting "out of Malibu."

Look, I'm gonna level with you. I'm still not over Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's breakup.

It was the end of an era!

While they had broken up more than once in the past, thrice broken up is fairly permanent — especially when there's paperwork involved.

Miley and Liam's whirlwind relationship all began on the set of "The Last Song" in 2009.

By 2010, they were officially boyfriend and girlfriend — going steady. In 2012 the pair announced their first engagement.

“I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam,” Cyrus told People.

But by September 2013, their engagement was called off.

At which point, Miley's Bangerz phase commenced.

She was wildin' out a little bit — as most people do when they're going through a messy breakup.

Our faith in love was restored, however, when they finally got back together in October 2016.

Hollywood Gossip

Miley was sporting a brand new engagement ring, and the pair looked happier than ever.

In December 2018, the pair tied the knot in a secret ceremony.

They were married for about seven months before announcing their separation.

Although it certainly came as a surprise to most of us, in hindsight, there were quite a few indicators that the two weren't as loved up as we thought they were...

For instance, Miley said that she was "sick of men" in June 2019.

While recently singing her hit "Wrecking Ball" at the Tinderbox Festival in Denmark — a song originally written about their initial breakup, she uttered the words "I'm [expletive] sick of men."

Yikes!

Then they were both photographed separately, on several occasions, not wearing their wedding rings.

To be fair, Miley did mention back in 2016 that wedding rings aren't really her "aesthetic."

But it still seemed fishy!

Not to mention, neither Miley nor Liam had posted any photos with each other in the months leading up to their divorce.

During which time, Miley admitted in an interview with ELLE that she wasn't exactly conventional wifey material.

"I think it's very confusing to people that I'm married. But my relationship is unique," she said.

"And I don't know that I would ever publicly allow people in there because it's so complex, and modern, and new that I don't think we're in a place where people would get it."

"I mean, do people really think that I'm at home in a [expletive] apron cooking dinner?"

"I'm in a hetero relationship, but I still am very sexually attracted to women," she went on. "People become vegetarian for health reasons, but bacon is still [expletive] good, and I know that. I made a partner decision. This is the person I feel has my back the most. I definitely don't fit into a stereotypical wife role."

"I don't even like that word," she added.

Miley's words didn't exactly echo the sound of somebody who is enthusiastic about being somebody's wife.

ANYWAYS. Miley and Liam both seem to have moved on. Miley with her boyfriend, Cody Simpson, and Liam with his new girlfriend, Gabriella Brooks.

But in a recent interview with News.com.au, Liam's brother, Chris, subtly shaded Miley...

He began by acknowledging how far Liam has come and applauding the positive changes he's made to his life.

“I think he’s done it,” He said, explaining that Liam is likely the most in-shape amongst the Hemsworth brothers.

...And if Chris knows anything, it's how to stay in/maintain excellent physical fitness.

I just had to throw in a picture of fat Thor! Can you imagine if Chris actually looked like this? I love the beard but I miss the abs.

“Did you see the *Men’s Health* cover? I thought, Not bad, kid. Not bad."

“He’s out there training and staying fit and back in Australia doing his thing,” he said.

But as fit as Liam may be, he will never be Thor!

That's not a knock against Liam. Not all of us can grow up to be a part of The Avengers and that's OK!

“It’s Australian living, I guess. We got him out of Malibu!”

And as you may recall, Malibu is where he lived with Miley while they were still together before their home burned down (literally and figuratively).

Fans are very sure that he meant it as shade towards Miley.

Miley's supporters were quick to come to her aid and condemn the comments.

I don't know if I'd say it's a clear dig at Miley but I can certainly understand how someone could extrapolate that meaning.

Her fans even accused the Hemsworth brothers of manipulating the media's perception of her.

If you mean your blood boils as a result of their incendiary good looks, then I couldn't agree more.

Which received a lot of backing in the reply thread.

Interesting take on the situation. So it's all done to elicit sympathy for Liam.

How does that work exactly?

Although not everyone was immediately sold on the idea.

I am inclined to agree, it does seem like a rather innocent statement that got blown out of proportion.

If anything, it seems like Miley isn't over Liam. Not the other way around.

If you're trying to send someone a message that you no longer have feelings for them, it probably isn't the best plan to release a concept album about your very public breakup.

That's just my two cents.

Miley even responded to the "diss" herself.

She wished the brothers well, saying that she hopes that they move on as well. Without so much as a hint of passive aggression.
