All of us have been facing new challenges and obstacles since the entire world took a hit. This period of self-isolation has been most difficult for children, many of whom spend their days and nights alone.
As a way of giving back, actor Ryan Reynolds appeared via live stream to chat with some of the patients at SickKids Hospital.
The Deadpool star spoke to fans about superheroes, his choice of pokemon, as well as a possible reunion with his favorite X-Man.
Ryan was one of a handful of Canadian celebs contacted directly by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The idea was to use celebs to turn social distancing into a movement - and it worked!
The Deadpool star recently announced a t-shirt campaign via his Instagram account.
His goal is to "bring boring back" to the masses, as well as raise funds to purchase PPE for front line workers.
Ryan answered questions from fans and provided us all with a little insight into the making of Deadpool.
If it looks familiar, that's because it is! Ryan's 'ugly Christmas sweater' is the very same one that he (and Hugh Jackman) have both been spotted wearing.
Ryan was even thoughtful enough to gift Auston his own 'ugly Christmas sweater'. If you look closely at the gift tag, it says:
TO: Auston
FROM: Ryan
Auston is the Captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He's one of the top forwards in the entire NHL.
If you didn't already know, Ryan Reynolds is a die-hard Leafs fan.
It's kind of uncanny right? I mean she's got the hat, the nose, the only thing that's missing is the doll.
Oh, don't you worry. There's still plenty to be excited about even if it isn't Lunette the Clown!
Still, that would have been pretty cool.
Ryan even admitted that he "Would like to do one more movie where Deadpool and Wolverine finally share the screen."
I think I speak for everyone when I say "Me too!"
Near the end of the conversation, Ryan jokingly revealed that Blake was sitting beside him "eavesdropping" and wanted to say hello.
Unfortunately for Blake, and for us all, it appears as if she may have been edited out of the film in the final cut.
Blake was asked what Pokémon she would choose to be if given the choice.
The star pondered for a moment and then quickly replied "Jigglypuff!"
I don't know but for some reason, I pictured her as more of a Vulpix? What do you think, am I crazy?
It was a great reminder of the importance and value of giving.
How such a small act of kindness goes such a long way in changing a child's life.
I think Ryan's missing a huge opportunity.
