A baby’s name is often something new parents think about for months before the baby is born!
A name can represent a family’s heritage, or someone significant in the parents’ lives.
However, sometimes things don’t go totally as planned and a baby’s name can be accidentally hilarious!

Which is exactly what happened to Amy Schumer when she and her husband Chris Fischer named their son, Gene.
Now obviously, Gene as a first name was not the problem.

It was his full name — Gene Attell Fischer.
Gen ital Fischer .
While speaking on her podcast, “Amy Schumer Presents: 3 Girls, 1 Keith” Amy admitted she had to legally change her son’s name after realizing Gene Attell sounds like “genital.”

Genital Fissure .
I’m so sorry, I have to laugh!
She explained : “So do you guys know that Gene, our baby’s name is officially changed? It’s now Gene David Fischer. It was Gene Attell Fischer but we realized that we by accident named our son, ‘genital.’”
She went on to explain that her son’s middle name is now in honor of her father, Gordon Schumer, whose middle name is David.

Awww!
However, some people didn’t think it was funny at all.
“You knew & thought it’d be the funniest thing ever, but the joke didn’t land so now you’re doing cleanup,” wrote one Twitter user.
Apparently this is a thing people noticed right away???
I have typed out the name a few times and I truly didn’t think of it ONCE, TBH.
This woman was shocked it took Amy so long to realize it.
Maybe the couple truly didn’t think about it until now!
Twitter user Krystal tweeted about Gene’s full name A DAY BEFORE AMY made the announcement of the name change.
Nostradamus much?
I mean hey, at least it got fixed, right?!
Now Gene will be able to live his best life with no fear of his middle name!
Love it or hate it, you truly cannot make this *ish* up!

This is why we love you Amy, and your little bébé Gene Attell David Fischer!
