Celebs Rush To Johnny Depp's Defense Amid Lawsuit Against Amber Heard

Amid Johnny Depp's defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard for wrongfully accusing him of domestic violence, celebrities who have known him for a long time have been filing statements, praising and defending him.

If you've been following the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard case, then you're probably aware of the most recent development.

For years, Amber has accused her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, of abusing her, and for the most part, fans were inclined to believe her.

The pair split up in May 2016, after 15 months of marriage. Their divorce was finalized in January 2017.

Since then, their breakup has gotten messier and messier with every passing year.

After appearing in public with visible bruising on her face, and after serving Johnny with a restraining order, he was labeled an abuser.

It was a really upsetting time for all Johnny Depp fans, finding out that someone they idolize was capable of such despicable acts.

Amber even detailed the alleged abusive relationship she had with him in an op-ed for the Washington Post.

However, Johnny has been strongly denying the allegations since day one.

He filed a defamation lawsuit again Amber that reads: Ms. Heard is not a victim of domestic abuse, she is a perpetrator".

In response to the lawsuit against her, Amber alleged that Johnny hit her, ripped out her hair, choked, and tried to suffocate her.

While Amber seemingly had everybody's support after labelling Johnny as an abuser, things took a dramatic turn last month...

Johnny revealed that he had obtained 87 surveillance videos that captured Amber abusing him — not the other way around.

Subsequently, a pretty damning piece of evidence was leaked for the entire world to hear for themselves.

An audio clip of Amber confessing to hitting Johnny.

"I'm sorry that I didn't, uh, uh, hit you across the face in a proper slap, but I was hitting you, it was not punching you. Babe, you're not punched," a woman's voice can be heard saying.

"I don't know what the motion of my actual hand was, but you're fine, I did not hurt you, I did not punch you, I was hitting you."

In a separate clip, she says: "I can't promise I won't get physical again, I get so mad I lose it." and in another clip, she calls Johnny "a baby."

Since the audio clips were released, it has been all downhill for Amber. Two petitions to have her removed from Aquaman 2 have been circulating the web, collecting thousands of signatures.

Not to mention the relentless harrassment she has been facing online.

While she hasn't removed herself entirely from any social media platform because of it, nor has she discontinued posting content, she has disabled the features that allow people to contact her.

As the lawsuit against Amber is being processed, fellow celebs have been rushing to Johnny's defense.

Winona Ryder, filed a declaration in the Virginia defamation case, stating she cannot believe Johnny would ever commit an act of domestic violence.

“I am aware of the violence allegations that have been made publicly for the last few years by Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard," her statement reads.

”I knew Johnny very well years ago. We were together as a couple for four years, and I counted him as my best friend, and as close to me as family. I count our relationship as one of the more significant relationships of my life. I understand that it is very important that I speak from my own experience."

"He was never, never violent towards me," she continued.

"He was never, never abusive at all towards me. He has never been violent or abusive towards anybody I have seen. I truly and honestly only know him as a really good man- an incredibly loving, extremely caring guy who was so very protective of me and the people that he loves, and I felt so very, very safe with him."

Penelope Cruz has also written a statement, defending Johnny.

"I’ve seen Johnny in so many situations and he is always kind to everyone around. He is one of the most generous people I know," she noted.

"During six months of my first pregnancy, I spent every single day with him while we shot Pirates of the Caribbean."

"My husband and I will never forget the sweetness, protection and kindness he treated me with during every single step of that process."

Javier Bardem followed Winona and Penelope's lead, making his own statement about Johnny.

"I love Johnny. He has always been a true gentleman and an extremely generous and caring friend to my family and myself," he said.

"I not only love Johnny but respect him deeply and I thank him for being the free and careless little boy he is in his art and the mature and loving man he is in the lives of others, always there when we need him," he continued.

"I love Johnny because he is a good human being, trapped in the lies and manipulations of toxic beings and yet smiling and loving us all in spite of it."

"How? Through his music, through his acting, through his silence. This means a lot. Thank you, Johnny. Millions of others like me love you deeply," he concluded.

Looks like Johnny is finally getting the support he deserves!
