The road to motherhood is never easy. There are several roadblocks that can get in the way, including issues with infertility.

Thankfully, there are brave celebs out there who are willing to share their experiences, helping make the subject feel less taboo.

1. Anne Hathaway

When the star announced her second pregnancy on Instagram, she let fans know that the road getting there was anything but smooth.

2. Khloé Kardashian

She may have her daughter True now, but when the reality star was trying to conceive with ex-husband, Lamar Odom, they struggled.

"It's more about my hormones being off.… I was taking hormone shots to stabilize them, and you have to take those shots consistently and they have to be done by a doctor," she told Redbook.

3. Beyoncé

Before Beyoncé had her twins or even Blue Ivy, she suffered a devastating miscarriage.

"I heard the heartbeat, which was the most beautiful music I ever heard in my life. I picked out names. I envisioned what my child would look like ... I was feeling very maternal. I flew back to New York to get my check up—and no heartbeat," she said in her HBO documentary, Life Is But a Dream.

"Literally the week before I went to the doctor, everything was fine, but there was no heartbeat... it was the saddest thing I've ever been through."

The Logan actor and his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, adopted their two children after a long battle of infertility.

"Until you go through it, you realize [infertility is] not talked about a lot.… And it [was] a difficult time," Jackman told Katie Couric.

The actress and her NBA husband, Dwayne Wade, went through a lot to finally have a child together via a gestational carrier.

We're talking several failed IVF cycles and miscarriages — all of which, she's spoken out about.

6. Tyra Banks

Putting kids off for so long led to her infertility issues.

“It’s so funny when I was 23 years old, I used to tell myself, ‘In three years, I’m going to have kids.’ Then I turned 24. ‘In three years, I’m going to have kids,’” she shared in 2015.

In the end, she welcomed her son, York, via a gestational surrogate.

After struggling to get pregnant with her second child with husband Keith Urban, the star got candid.

"Anyone who's been in the place of wanting another child or wanting a child knows the disappointment, the pain and the loss that you go through trying," she said on 60 Minutes.

"The one true hurdle I've faced in life is that I have a broken belly," Banks shared on her blog in 2011 after welcoming her first son, Felix.

She may have the perfect family now: a three-year-old daughter, Luna, and a 1-year-old son, Miles, but it took a lot to get there.

“John and I were having trouble. We would have had kids five, six years ago if it had happened,” she told Tyra Banks in 2015. “But my gosh, it’s been a process.”

In the end, she froze her eggs in order to have Luna through IVF treatments.
