Elizabeth Warren Stopped By 'SNL' And Perfectly Twinned With Kate McKinnon

Mr. James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, hosted last night's episode of Saturday Night Live, and while no one's saying he didn't do a good job, I think we can all agree Elizabeth Warren stole the show.

The senator and former Democratic presidential nominee candidate seemed to be in good spirits during her surprise appearance where she finally came face to face with Kate McKinnon, the cast member who has been expertly portraying her on the show.

This week, Warren announced that she would be dropping out of the presidential race after failing to secure a single Super Tuesday state.

As Buzzfeed News reported, she revealed this decision during a call with her staff last week:

"I know that when we set out, this was not the call you ever wanted to hear. It is not the call I ever wanted to make. But I refuse to let disappointment blind me, or you, to what we’ve accomplished. We didn’t reach our goal, but what we have done together, what you have done, has made a lasting difference. It’s not the scale of the difference we wanted to make, but it matters — and the changes will have ripples for years to come."

Just three days after dropping out of the race, Warren surprised TV audiences by stopping by *Saturday Night Live*.

During the show's cold opening, which mocked Fox News' coverage of the coronavirus, McKinnon, dressed up as Laura Ingraham, introduced Warren as a “celebrity interview" and the pair discussed her campaign.

The former presidential hopeful said her friends and family have been "so supportive", and joked, “They’ve been calling nonstop, asking ‘Are you okay, what do you need, were you electable?’”

Warren went on to say she is proud of her campaign because “We built a wide coalition of teachers, preschool teachers, middle school teachers, and teachers’ pets."

"But now, I’ve got time to do a little self-care," she added. "Hanging out with my dog Bailey, prank-calling banks, drag-racing Subarus, avoiding Twitter."

At the end of the sketch, McKinnon, who had been off camera, suddenly appeared at Warren's side dressed identical to the senator.

“Sorry, I wanted to put on my favorite outfit to thank you for all that you’ve done in your lifetime," a visibly excited McKinnon gushed.

“I’m not dead," Warren quipped, "I’m just in the Senate."

The two then wrapped their arms around each other and introduced the show together.

This wasn't the pair's only interaction, as they later filmed a viral Tik Tok challenge together in the dressing room.

In the clip, which was posted to the official Saturday Night Live Instagram account, Warren and McKinnon recorded themselves doing the Drake "Flipped the Switch" challenge with a stoic Warren holding the phone while McKinnon dances behind her.

As Drake says the line "I just switched a flip (flip, flip)", the duo suddenly switch places, with McKinnon now recording while Warren continues to dance in the background.

Plenty of viewers were stunned and excited to see Warren appear on the sketch comedy series.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez couldn't contain her excitement and tweeted, "ok this is legendary" in response to Warren's performance.

Many people online expressed their joy of seeing the senator, and then their subsequent sadness at remembering she's no longer vying for the presidency.

"She would have been the best president," this person wrote. "Never had a chance."

Others thought Warren should have used her appearance to publicly endorse Bernie Sanders.

During the cold opening, Ingraham asked her who she'd be endorsing now and Warren answered, "It’s tough. Maybe I’ll just pull a New York Times and endorse them both.”

As this unhappy viewer tweeted, "Elizabeth Warren is really just f***ing around on SNL for fun while the Democratic Party is trying to screw Bernie and install a man with dementia as the candidate to go against trump."
