Your contour is either gorgeous or muddy. Your highlighter is either glowy or oily. Sometimes we leave the nail salon feeling like a million bucks, and other times we leave feeling like our nails were taken advantage of.
Here are some people who can relate to the tragic turn our beauty regimens sometimes take.
1. Omg, someone PLEASE hold me. Not to be dramatic, but I am going through emotional trauma just looking at this photo.
There is nothing worse than finishing your face makeup and then smearing the blackest of black mascara all over your contour.
2. UMMMMMMMM.
We all had our awkward braces phase (hello, middle school). We all swore we’d never be chained down by metal clamps again. And then, all of the sudden, THIS happens?! When I tell my nail tech to “surprise me,” this is NAWT what I mean!
3. This is an absolutely not for me, thanks.
No offense, but it’s 2018. Us beauty gurus should have access to a gorgeous highlighter that satisfies the need to highlight the cheekbones, but also protects us from those inevitable moments of clumsiness.
Watch me go try to return this highlighter to Sephora, two years after I bought it, with no receipt.
This highlighter cost me $40, and it’s lasted through three boyfriends and 28 girls’ night outs — it’s not supposed to end this way!
4. I will not be held accountable for the things I said when I was making another minimum payment on my credit card.
I am weak against the force that is Sephora, and I will not apologize for it!!!!
5. This is all too real for me right now.
It’s the existential crisis all of us beauty babes face. Is it gonna be hair on fleek or makeup at its peak? Tbh, it’s all about a snatched brow and bold lip for me.
6. Okay, so like, what happened here?
We love a DIY makeup hack. We also love a hygienic makeup sponge. What we don’t love is a burnt, melted Beauty Blender.
7. Love wasting my expensive makeup right before I go to bed, when no one is around to see it!
But that’s why the Lord gave us the selfie — to save these memories for all of eternity!!!
8. This is a positive…and then a real quick negative.
Having my fake lashes on makes me feel like an actual celebrity. Like, a Kardashian. Like, ready for the paps to follow me 24/7. Like, ready for an Insta sponsorship.
9. OMG, BABE, I NEED LIKE FIVE MORE MINUTES.
What is it about men? Why don’t they believe us when we say we just need FIVE MORE minutes?! And sure, five minutes really means two hours, but who cares?
10. If this ain’t the most real thing I’ve ever seen…
This is why I’ve literally thrown out every eyeliner pen I’ve ever owned, ’cause this is the CRAP that I get myself into!
11. GUYS, honestly, sometimes you need to make a mess to make art.
It’s important to keep your head up at times like these. Literally, keep your head up, ’cause you don’t wanna see the tragic mess you’ve made creating your face beat.
12. Ummmmmmm, I think I’d take the braces nail art over this, and that’s pretty dark.
Guuuuuys, why does it look like they painted actual mayonnaise on the tips of her toenails?
Like, excuse me while I gag for three seconds.
Is it mayo? Whip cream? Cool Whip? Cream cheese? ‘Cause I’ve NEVER seen a nail polish with chunks like that in it.
13. This is such a crime against makeup artistry!
There are so many amazing, talented makeup artists that could have made this woman feel like a million bucks. I wanna riot for her real quick.
14. Okay, well, why are we doing our makeup in the dark, boo boo?
I think it’s truly wild that someone could make this mistake, but honestly who am I to judge? I’ve accidentally used concealer as lipgloss before.
