1. Check out Zack Smithey's three-bedroom house that looks like a modern version of a Tudor home thanks to its unique striped exterior.

It's actually made out of eight containers. Stunning.

The home has all the modern amenities one would expect and 90% of the materials are recycled.

Smithey gravitated toward the sustainability and economy of using shipping containers.

2. This home affectionately called "Box Hop" is located in Ohio.

It sits on 18.5 acres of land with the beautiful landscape surrounding it. It's made out of three interconnected shipping containers.

Even though this house is pretty small it still packs a punch when it comes to style and comfort.

It has a soaking tub, gas fireplace and laundry amenities. Wow!

3. The couple behind the "Box Hop" built another shipping container home called "Boho Boxhop".

This one is two stories and can sleep four people. They're both available to rent on Airbnb.

4. The Hinckle family lives out of a house made out of two shipping containers stacked on top of each other.

It has a spiral staircase, deck, and nine-foot-tall bedroom ceiling.

5. Meanwhile, the Asheville family lives in a home that looks just like a studio apartment.

The best feature is their walk-in shower. And you can also rent it on Airbnb.

6. This cool dwelling has been designed by Poteen Architects and it's another studio space.

It's a container house that features large windows that allow natural light to come in.

7. The container house idea is becoming a lot more popular.

People are realizing that this is a lot more affordable and an eco-friendly option for a more sustainable future.
