Actor and stunt double Andrew Dunbar, best known for his work on Game of Thrones, Line of Duty, Krypton, and Derry Girls, passed away suddenly on Christmas Eve, as reported by The Independent.
"We have so many fond memories of the years Andrew worked with us," a spokesperson for The Extras Dept, an Irish agency that represented Dunbar, said in a statement.
βHe was so versatile we could cast him in anything, he was such a talented performer he would always end up being featured, and he was so adored that he was always requested by productions again and again," The Extras Dept statement continued.
Alfie Allen, who played Theon Greyjoy, posted a tribute to his Instagram stories, writing, "Andrew was an actor who was also a stand-in as Theon on GoT."
"To lose a loved one so young, I can only imagine what his family are going through. RIP Andrew xxx.β
"Even among the thousands of extras that came through the crowd room on Thrones β Andrew always stood out. Always professional and mannerly with a big broad beaming smile," she said.
Fellow Game of Thrones extra and star of Game of Thrones: The Last Watch documentary Andrew McClay also wrote a tribute to Dunbar, saying, "Everyone always wanted Andrew. There was just something about him that was special."
"After a challenging day or crappy weather, or difficult times, he'd make you stop and talk it out. So when I heard he'd died suddenly on Christmas Eve, it just broke me. I'll never make any sense of it. He was a true person, a talented, kind and decent man and he had a full and good heart."
Dunbar was in his 30s at the time of his death. Our thoughts are with his friends, family, and loved ones at this time.
