Devastating News For Friends And Family Of NBC Anchor Lesley Swick Van Ness

Lesley Swick Van Ness, who was an anchor of an NBC affiliate in Illinois, shockingly died on Monday in Naples, Florida. Tragic news for everyone!

The family would have never thought that they were having the best time together for one last time, as Lesley died while vacationing with her family.

"It is with a very heavy heart that we share some devastating news with you," said Jennifer Dale on Muddy River News.

This 42-year-old anchor fell badly ill while on her vacation and was hospitalized last Thursday, and eventually died.

In an online obituary, Tom and Neat Brower responded by saying: "In the eyes of a small community she was a celebrity."

Lesley had two beautiful young sons with his husband, Tom. The family was truly living happily ever after! 

After hearing about the tragic news of her death, her colleagues were reduced to tears. And why wouldn't they? This grief is more than some words!

"Please keep all of them in your prayers. We will keep everyone posted on arrangements." one of her colleagues said.

Another co-worker expressed her sadness by writing in a tweet that she was heartbroken because Lesley was not only a good mentor but also a friend.  

Anchor Lesley's funeral will take place at St. John's Anglican Parish in Quincy at 10 a.m. Monday.

According to their colleagues, Lesley was a strong woman and will always be remembered as a force to be reckoned with.

Schmidt, an anchor at WGEM-TV, said that she possessed a commanding presence that enabled her to take over the newsroom as soon as she walked in.

Brian Inman, the meteorologist at WGEM-TV, said he was willing to put in extra hours, especially if it was for a cause that significantly affected the community.

She was always there to take up any task and had no qualms about carrying out tasks that others might consider unpleasant.

After graduating from Illinois State University, she began her career as a reporter at WGEM-TV, the NBC local affiliate in Quincy, Ill., in 2003.

Three years later, she transitioned to a weekend anchor position, and then she was anchoring the weekday editions of the evening and late-night newscasts.

In 2016, Lesley transitioned to the corporate sector of the industry after leaving her previous position.

Due to changing family priorities, she eagerly accepted the opportunity to become Quincy Media's inaugural corporate recruiter from 2016 to 2021.

She performed her every role with adherence to strong moral principles; hence, her legacy will forever be remembered.
