Tasha K (whose real name is Latasha Kebe) also shared an edited picture of herself wearing a McDonald's uniform on her Instagram page, captioning it with the hashtag "#TashaKGetsAJOB." Her post brings light humor of being unable to make the full payment of $4 million Cardi B has requested.

After Tasha K lost the case in January last year, she requested a new trial with the court but, at the time, failed to make any motion of appeal.

The court issued a statement, saying, "Defendant Latasha Kebe asks for a new trial, saying that there was insufficient evidence for the jury verdict against her. But as she all but admits, she didn't make either of the required post-verdict motions in the district court."

The statement from the court added, "She never tells us where in the 5500-page record the district court's alleged errors can be found."

Abandonment of Argument

Due to Tasha K's inability to offer further arguing statements for the case, the court stated the YouTuber had abandoned the argument. "Kebe's brief falls well short of what we require, she has abandoned this argument."

Following the verdict from January last year, Cardi B was awarded a compensatory amount of $2.5 million in damages and $1.3 million in all legal fees she had spent.

The judge presiding over the case, Judge William Ray, issued an injunction for Tasha K, which forced her to remove the defamatory videos from the internet.

Cardi B (whose real name is Bella listed Almánzar) filed a defamation lawsuit against YouTuber Tasha K in 2019. The lawsuit was targeted at the video posted by Tasha K on her YouTube channel, UnWineWithTashaK, where Cardi B claims she (Tasha K) made malicious campaigns smeared at tarnishing her reputation.

Her Defamatory Statements

In the defamatory video, Tasha K referred to the 30-year-old Grammy award-winning singer as being unfaithful to her partner, rapper Offset. She also stated that Cardi B had performed sexual acts with a bottle, had contracted herpes, and was a prostitute.

Tasha K and her legal team also argued in her appellate brief that Judge William Ray intentionally withheld several details from the jurors, making the verdict "lopsided."

Vow To Keep The Fight

At the time, the YouTuber vowed to continue fighting the case "all the way to the Supreme Court if need be" until it goes in her favor.

When Cardi B's lawyers, Lisa Moore and Andrew Pequignot, were asked by Billboard for a comment, they stated to be pleased with the verdict. "We're obviously pleased that the Eleventh Circuit has affirmed the jury's unanimous and important verdict, which we believe was more than amply supported by the evidence presented in the case."

Avoiding Payment

The judges, at the time, also warned Judge William Ray of Tasha K's attempt to avoid paying the defamatory claims. "This is more than a hypothetical concern in this case."

Her Bragging

Cardi B's lawyers also highlighted several instances Tasha K has publicly bragged of trying to stop herself from the judgment. "During the litigation, Kebe bragged publicly that she had taken steps to insulate herself from a judgment. And there have been recent online reports that Kebe has moved from Georgia to avoid enforcement of the judgment."

Forced Payment or Bond

One month after the warning made by the singer's lawyers, Judge William Ray ruled that Tasha K needs to pay Cardi B what's requested or secure a bond to cover the amount while she seeks to appeal the case.

After losing the appeal case on Tuesday, it's clear that Tasha K will have no option but to make payment. It remains unclear the financial status of Tasha K, but she has claimed, in a joking manner, not to have more than $1,083 in her bank accounts.
