On Saturday night, the Transformers actress got the internet world buzzing after posting the lyrics of a Beyonce song that talks about dishonesty.
"You can taste the dishonesty/ it’s all over your breath," she captioned a round of mirror selfie photos and a video clip of a letter being burned.
Because of the cryptic post, followers were quick to assume that MGK cheated on Megan. One follower suggested that the rocker may have hooked up with his guitarist, Sophie Lloyd. Megan responded: “Maybe I got with Sophie.”
Megan deleted all traces of Kelly on her social media account before completely disappearing on Instagram on Sunday.
Megan's disappearance on Instagram further proved that there was trouble in paradise. According to several reports, the couple had a big fight over the weekend, which led to Megan being very upset.
Following the Insta drama, the couple was spotted leaving a marriage counseling office on Monday. MGK looked disheveled, while Megan appeared to be wiping tears from her face.
Reports say that they spent around two and a half hours inside the building and then left in separate cars.
They were also photographed sitting together inside a car on Valentine's Day, a day after they visited the counseling office. The actress was seen looking down miserably, while Kelly was holding his phone.
A source told People that "they are speaking and trying to work things out." Megan is still upset, says the insider, and is taking it one day at a time.
According to the source, while there are trust issues right now, Megan isn't giving up on their love. "She was never one to casually date," the source said. "She is with him because she believes it's a long-term relationship. She isn't just gonna give up on their relationship."
Megan and Kelly shared the news of their engagement last year on January 12. The musician went down on one knee under a banyan tree, which holds a significant meaning for the two.
MGK proposed with two rings - one emerald and one diamond - that formed an obscure heart when worn together.
He shared that he designed the ring in such a way that it would hurt Megan if she tries to take it off. The bands are spiked with "thorns" so it would be painful to remove.
"The concept is that the ring can come apart to make two rings. When it’s together, it’s held in place by a magnet. So you see how it snaps together? And then it forms an obscure heart. And you see this right here? The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts…” MGK told Vogue. “Love is pain!”
The unconventional design of the ring did not sit well with the public. Some thought that it was a clear sign of a toxic and controlling partner.
An engagement ring that's difficult to take off can be very inconvenient. One person on Twitter quipped that maybe that's what MGK meant by "Bloody Valentine".
An eagle-eyed fan pointed out that Megan's original cryptic post, which features her posing in a mirror selfie, also shows a strange poster on the side with the text "When you can't walk away", alluding to being stuck in an abusive relationship.
People on Twitter also pointed out that the poster could be a call for help from Megan, who has already hinted at being hurt several times before.
Megan had said previously that she was suffering from a broken wrist and a concussion before she attended the Grammys gala with MGK. Later, information came out that the injury may have happened on the set of Megan's upcoming film.
As of writing, there have been no official statements from their camps. But reports say that the wild twosome is trying to work things out.
