Cody Longo, 'Days of Our Lives' And 'Hollywood Heights' Actor, Passes Away at 34

According to reports, authorities discovered Cody's lifeless body in bed at his residence in Austin, Texas, on February 8, 2023. Per the report, the actor's wife, Stephanie, was at work at a local dance studio and became worried when she couldn't reach Cody.

So, Stephanie called the police to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival at the location, the authorities revealed Cody didn't answer the door, forcing them to kick it down.

After finally gaining access to the residence, they found the actor dead in the bedroom. A family member admitted to TMZ that Cody had struggled with alcohol abuse for many years and had recently gone to rehab.

Sadly, the family believed Cody had relapsed and had a strong feeling that alcoholism was the likely cause of the actor's death. However, an official cause of death is yet to be revealed.

Following his demise, the young actor was remembered as an amazing father and the best husband by his wife, who also revealed that their whole world was shattered. Cody is survived by his wife, Stephanie, and their three young children.

Cody was born in Littleton, Colorado, on March 4, 1988. He started his career in the entertainment industry by featuring in many music videos before making his film debut in the 2008 feature Ball Don't Lie. 

The following year, Cody appeared on the small screen for the first time during an episode of Medium. Over the next couple of years, the late performer appeared in supporting roles in features, including Fame and Bring It On: Fight to the Finish.

Later, Cody made several appearances as Nikki Russo in the teen drama, Make It or Break It. In 2011, he starred as Nicholas Alamain in eight Days of our Lives episodes. Erik von Detten and Victor Webster had previously filled the character's part.

Besides the productions mentioned above, Cody was also featured in two episodes of CSI: NY that aired in 2011.

The 34-year-old's longest-running role was on the family drama series Hollywood Heights, which premiered and concluded in 2012. Cody acted as Eddie Duran in the show, alongside Brittany Underwood and Melissa Ordway.

The actor was featured in 78 out of the show's 80 episodes. After the show was canceled, Cody starred in other small television roles in shows like Death House, Secrets and Lies, Nashville, etc. 

Cody's most recent appearance in a film was in Starting Up Love, which hit the screens in 2019. While the actor had quite an amazing time in the entertainment industry, his life was not free of challenges.

In 2020, Cody was arrested on a domestic assault charge after reportedly fighting with Stephanie. While nothing much is known about the case, the following year wasn't any easier.

The actor was charged with sexually assaulting a nine-year-old girl and pled guilty to misdemeanor assault. Irrespective of whatever he went through, Cody pulled through and availed himself for his family.
