Bure recently stated, "Cancel culture is real, and it's difficult, and it's hard," in an interview with the Unapologetic With Julia Jeffress Sadler podcast.

Bure continued by claiming that Christians worldwide experience persecution for their faith and that North America has served as a "cushion" against this persecution.

What Candace Thinks About Cancel Culture

Bure believes that cancel culture is attempting to silence people, especially Christians, from speaking their truth. She will, however, stand up for what she believes in.

Candace Motivates Like-Minded People

Bure is adamant about not letting cancel culture win, even if the going gets tough.

"It’s hard, no matter what. Especially when you are a compassionate person and you have a heart for people. But it’s important that we don’t back down."

Where It All Started

If you missed it, the former Full House star got into trouble in November 2022 after declaring in an interview that she was leaving the Hallmark Channel for the Great American Family network, where she hoped to "keep traditional marriage at the core."

Candace Caused An Outrage With her Comments

The comments, which implied that the network would exclude LGBTQ+ marriage stories, outraged many social media users and celebrities. They appeared to cast doubt on or invalidate same-sex marriages.

Candace Speaks Out Three Months After The First Controversy

The 46-year-old actress is speaking out against cancel culture and calling it "difficult" to go through. Her words came out nearly three months after defending her views, which are largely based on her Christian upbringing.

Bure And Sweetin Got In An Argument

The divisive subject also led to a rift between her and Jodie Sweetin, who also starred alongside Bure on both Full House and Fuller House.

The actresses had a "pretty serious" argument as a result of the comments, in part because Sweetin "is progressive in her beliefs and Candace is very religious in hers," a source told ET at the time.

Candace And Sweetin Shared Different Views

The source stated that Bure's comments to WSJ. Magazine:

"Held a lot of weight."

She continued:

"They have different views and opinions on various important topics."

Jojo Siwa Reacted To Candace's Comments In November

Some of the notable celebrities who came for Bure include Jojo Siwa, who identifies as Pansexual, and wrote on Instagram at the time that:

"Honestly, I can’t believe after everything that went down just a few months ago, that she would not only create a movie with intention of excluding LGBTQIA+, but then also talk about it in the press. This is rude and hurtful to a whole community of people."
