John Lydon breaks down in tears while talking about his wife, Nora Forster's battle with Alzheimer's. The Irish-British punk rocker also talked about his new song. Lydon also once shared his role in his wife's battle with Alzheimer's.

According to Daily Mail, the 67-year-old talked about his wife's struggle with Alzheimer's on Tuesday's daytime show. Lydon was talking about his new song Hawaii which was dedicated to his 80-year-old wife. Forster and the Sex Pistols singer got married in 1979. He first revealed his wife's diagnosis in 2018. Lydon talked about how it felt to watch his wife suffer.

How He Wrote The Song Dedicated To His Wife

The singer revealed that it took him four years to write the lyrics of the song. He further shared that it was a struggle to keep and find a relationship ground for him and Forster. The Psycho's Path singer shared that music organizes Forster's brain. 

Lydon Opened Up About His New Song

Lydon shared that the song was a love song that tells people not to ask questions and just be happy. He shared that the love song however has tragedy in it but also shares that love conquers all. The 67-year-old continued that Alzheimer's was a new journey. The great moments between Lydon and Forster were captured in the song. The song was full of memories he shared with Forster for 40 years.

He is Determined To Keep Her Memories Alive

The couple once spent a holiday in Hawaii after a tour that he called "the greatest week of our lives." The singer shared he wanted to bring back the memory now that her memory was fading. The Rise singer shared that the song was dedicated to those going through tough times with their loved ones. 

Lydon Illustrated His Role In Forster's Battle With Alzheimer's

Lydon once described his role in the life of his wife who is battling with Alzheimer's in 2020. He shared that he had been acting as a full-time caregiver since Forster's condition got worse. In an interview in June, the singer said despite the battle, the real Forster was still there.

She Never Lost Her Sense Of Identifying him

Lydon continued that his wife's condition kept getting worse. Despite that, he revealed that Forster never lost sight of his identity. He continued that he cannot put her in a home. The Death Disco singer said the message for being a caretaker was realizing that a bit of love conquers all. 

Inside The Relationship Of Lydon And Forster

In 2014, he revealed when they first met. Lydon recalled that they did not strike it off the first time. In fact, the duo disliked each other. Fast forward to 1979, and the star singer walked down the aisle with Forster as they had become very much in love. He described his beloved wife as the most beautiful woman he had seen.

He Became Stepdad To Her Daughter

Forster also discussed their relationship in Lydon's autobiography, No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs. There she said she did not like Lydon at first but later fell in love with his sweet attitude. Lydon then became the stepfather of Forster's daughter, Ari Up.

They Welcomed Kids Together Too

The couple also became guardians of Ari Up's three children. Unfortunately, Ari Up died after battling breast cancer in 2010. In 2014, Lydon shared that if he or Forster dies before the other, it would be devastating.
