NBA star Tristan Thompson is in mourning over the sudden death of his late mother, Andrea. According to TMZ, Tristan's mother had a heart attack at her Toronto home on Thursday, January 5, and passed away before paramedics arrived. Since then, Tristan has moved to Toronto to be with his family.

Sources told E!News that Tristan took a flight to Toronto to be with his family, and his ex Khloe Kardashian joined him to support and help him get through the first few days.
The source also revealed that Khloe and Andrea were close;
"This was unexpected," the source added. "She was incredibly close to his mother, and like Khloe and the Kardashian family always do, they will come together and support their loved ones in their most difficult time of need. Tristan is the father of Khloe's kids, and she and her entire family will always be there for him."
Thompson and Kardashian are parents to a 5-month-old baby, whose name has not yet been revealed, and to their 4-year-old daughter True. Additionally, he is the father of 6-year-old Prince and a 12-month-old boy named Theo with his ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig.
The Thompson family has undoubtedly suffered a profound loss as Andrea significantly influenced Tristan's life, particularly as his basketball career flourished.
When Tristan was selected fourth overall in the 2011 NBA Draft, Andrea reflected on how Trevor Thompson's parents helped her son get to the professionals.
Tristan's parents worked incredibly hard to provide for their children, as Andrea had previously described. She told the Toronto Star that her husband drove a truck while she drove a school bus.
Tristan shares an incredible bond with his mom, as showcased on his socials. Tristan would post photos flaunting his mom and her grandkids together.
In 2020, Thompson posted a touching Mother's Day tribute in memory of his late mother and a video of Andrea gushing about him.
“Happy Mother’s Day, Mommy! One day isn’t enough to praise and lift you high,” he wrote. “Everyday is your day. Thank you for all the sacrifices you made for me and my brothers. I love you and I’m soo lucky to have been chosen as your son. Not all superheroes wear capes.”
Tristan and Khloe have a complicated past, as fans are aware. Since first getting together in 2016, the couple has had an on-again, off-again romance. It's uplifting and pleasant to watch them together after a few scandals and Tristan having another child with a different woman just before they received their baby.
