The dancer and DJ has been laid to rest at a small family service according to a source which confirmed to PEOPLE today. Remember he died by suicide on December 13 at just 40 years old leaving behind his wife and children.

His sad death was confirmed by his wife Alison Holker Boss in a statement to PEOPLE. She described him as a star who lit up every room he entered, and "valued his family. friends and community above all else and leading with love and light was everything to him."

Boss's Rise To Fame

The late DJ gained popularity as a contestant on MTV's The Wade Robson Project before proceeding to become a runner-up on Star Search. He also competed on So You Think You Can Dance back in 2008 ending as a runner-up on season 4 and later returning as an All-Star and then a judge in the 2022 edition.

Boss joined The Ellen DeGeneres Show as a guest DJ in 2014 and worked his way into becoming a permanent entity on the show. Soon, he became a co-executive producer on the show in 2020.
