Not all heroes wear capes – some deliver pizza. A 25-year-old pizza delivery boy risked his life to save a family of five from a burning fire in Lafayette, Indiana. Like an action movie, a police officer’s bodycam caught the entire event on camera.
Nick Bostic Saves The Day
According to the Lafayette Police Department via a Twitter post, 25-year-old Nicholas Bostic was on his way home from work when he noticed the burning house. He pulled over and ran towards the house unaware of what to expect.

Upon getting to the burning house Bostic ran to the backdoor and entered the building. He rescued four siblings aged 1, 6, 13, and 18, and their 13-year-old friend sleeping over. The six-year-old was the last person Bostic rescued after the other four children informed him that she was asleep indoors.

The Lafayette Police Station made a press release calling Bostic a hero. They wrote,

Fundraiser For Medical Bills

Bostic doesn’t consider himself a hero as he said it was an adrenaline-fueled action as he “hightailed into the house.”
His heroic action cost him his health as he needed post-smoke inhalation treatments. Redditors criticized the American system as terrible because a Pizza delivery guy couldn’t afford healthcare.
His cousin, Richard, set up a GoFundMe for Bostic, which made over $500,000 on a $100,000 goal.
Surpassing The GoFundMe Goal

The heroic act is once again the topic of discussion as a Reddit user shared the bodycam video on the subreddit, Next F*cking Level . The users couldn’t believe Bostic’s courage in the face of danger.

There Are Opportunists Everywhere
A Redditor posted that someone impersonated Bostic on Facebook and set up a donation to get his dues. The person raised over $33,000 of a $60,000 goal before the app flagged the account for fraud.
Reddit users joked about it being typically American, saying people always want to scam others. They couldn’t believe someone would want to defraud a kind soul like Bostic, who continuously asked if the children were okay despite being in danger too.
People Want Bostic To Get A Medal
Redditors believe Indiana state would award him a city medal for his heroic act although that might be a stretch. The county police already recognized him publicly.
